Default Holder & deputies cleared of involvment in Fast and Furious

(CBS/AP) The Justice Department's inspector general cleared Attorney General Eric Holder and his top deputies Wednesday of knowing about the gun-walking operation known as Fast and Furious that allowed thousands of weapons to cross into Mexico.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz concluded that there were "serious failures" at both the Justice Department and its Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives going back more than six years, CBS Radio News reporter Stephanie Lambidakis reports.

Horowitz found that no one running the operations -- not agents, nor prosecutors, nor managers -- questioned the wisdom of letting guns vanish across the border with Mexico, where they ended up in the hands of drug traffickers.

That's good. I'm sure they were innocent. Now they need to introduce this kind of investigations for the serfs.

Kill someone? No worries. Your family is the grand jury.

God bless the overtaken States of America.

Here is what the White House had to say about the report, "Today's report affirms the problem of gun-walking was a field-driven tactic that dated back to the previous administration, and it was this administration's attorney general who ended it."

That is a filthy, disgusting lie and they know it. The program under Bush ended DURING Bush's administration. Fast and Furious was started DURING Obama's administration and Holder didn't end, it ended with the death of over 200 people and still counting.

Has this shameless moron Obama ever taken the blame for anything?

it's become second nature to just say 'previous administration' when anything untoward is mentioned. no comment when the facts were pointed out.

As for President Obama's discussion about the Justice Department Inspector General's report on Fast and Furious, it's true the Inspector General "concluded that although Attorney General Holder was notified immediately of (Border Patrol) Agent (Brian) Terry's shooting and death, he was not told about the connection between the firearms found at the scene of the shooting and Operation Fast and Furious.

We determined that Attorney General Holder did not learn of that fact until sometime in 2011, after he received Sen. Grassley's January 27 letter. Senior Department officials were aware of this significant and troubling information by December 17, 2010, but did not believe the information was sufficiently important to alert the Attorney General about it or to make any further inquiry regarding this development."

But this was not entirely an exoneration of the Justice Department run by Mr. Holder. "We found it troubling that a case of this magnitude, and one that affected Mexico so significantly was not directly briefed to the Attorney General," the report stated.

well, that just makes it easier to say you didn't know what was going on.

It is crazy how casually Obama lies to the American public, but why shouldn't he? He knows the biased media won't call him out on it. Unfortunately, it is the American people who are paying the price for Obama's lies

Danzig that is one news outlet, if Romney got caught in that blatant of a lie every media outlet would talking about for days. It is a blatant, outright lie that Obama had to know when he was telling it. As far as I am concerned, flat-out dishonesty doesnt get any worse than that so why isn't the media going nuts right now?

there you go, have at it.

and you're right, they have been talking about romney for days. i'm sure that's why they released his tax summations, to try to take some heat off his ill-advised remarks that came to light.

No question Romney timed the release to change the topic, now Obama can release his college transcripts, after he works for the American people and we have a right to know.
