Default Arlington Park has closed

This is most noteworthy because the season finale of 'Behind The Silks' with Tim Thorton has finally come.

Here it is: Season 1, Episode 203

Incredible access of a jockey who finished the meet winning at exactly 10%.

Thanks for posting this..it's a really cool series very well produced by Jessica. Tim's a natural for this and had a lot of fun with it.

Do you guys really think its that bad? I know that it was well recieved around here and it was a continued conversation throughout the meet.

It was generally focused towards first timers, newbies, and the 18-25 age demographic, but I still thought it educated all people.

I will say that I can understand how the hardcore or battle tested see it as trival though.

CMorioles was featured in his own video production on YouTube ... this one was done by Remington Park.

It's neatly produced (for whatever that's worth) -- the guy dresses like an absolute clown (for whatever that's worth) -- if the goal really was to help racing fans have a good understanding of horse races, they missed the mark from all that I saw.

If anyone wants to highlight and link to parts they liked or found especially helpful to them, I'd appreciate it and will watch.

I didn't watch any of them. Just looked to see what he was wearing.

Maybe this episode should have ended up on the cutting room floor.

Here's the prior week: 23 seconds in... you see him wearing everything but clown shoes.

All I was saying was that it was obviously sarcastic, and the first two responses seemed oblivious to this point despite what you are saying now. I made no comment on what I think about the shows.

What does this have to do with speed figures, or is that just the standard response to anything I post?

Tying speed figures into it would be just one very tiny step in the right direction, assuming the person doing the tying-in has a competent understanding of them and not just an opinion based on having a weak knowledge of the subject.

I would guess Tim Thorton's understanding of figures would be on par with my analysis of the New York Jets offensive schemes.

Putting something out there for entertainment is all good. But a 20-part series on a 10% jockey at a meet where Torres was the leading rider (after a failed PID meet last year) is kind of excessive and the effort would be better spent doing Trips and Traps and Weekly Recap type stuff.

If you want more entertainment -- you also could have placed ads on milk cartons and kimchi jars to get Mortimer/Clyde to post here again under a new handle.

I find a 20-part series on that jockey almost as excessive as I find Mortimer/Clyde

Oh it was a series on Tim Thornton? And people are defending it? FFS please let Nibiru be real and smash into earth. Between Captain Fetus and the shilling for horse racing I can't take much more.
