![]() Trainer Aidan O'Brien has signaled his intention to run "bob"DYLAN THOMAS, winner of both the Irish Derby and Irish Champion Stakes, in the Breeders' Cup Classic by nominating him to Turfway Park's Kentucky Cup Classic.
But O'Brien stated last Thursday that he has yet to decide between the 1 1 /8-mile Turfway Park Grade 2 event on Sept. 30 and Belmont Park's 1 1/4-mile Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup on Oct. 7 as the Breeders' Cup Classic prep for bob DYLAN THOMAS, a 3-year-old son of DANEHILL. "We want to give him a run in America on dirt to see how he handles what will be for him a new surface," O'Brien said. "We'll decide over the weekend on which race we'll use." so is he running here or in the gold cup.??? PERFECT DRIFT is running here, first time on polly, since he doesn't care for the turf, i would be willing to say he may not care for the polly . ![]() No surprise he is entered at a real track like Belmont and not that garbage pit known as Turfway. Thanks for the updates, I have never heard of this horse.

![]() The war between Coolmore and the Maktoums that was evident at the recent Keeneland September yearling sale is expected to move north either on Sept. 30, or Oct. 7 when Susan Magnier's Dylan Thomas squares off against Darley Stable's Bernardini and Shadwell Farm's Invasor in the $1-million Jockey Club Gold Cup (gr. I).
In a surprise move, Dylan Thomas, who was being pointed for the Breeders' Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I), will now cross the Atlantic a month earlier to do battle with the Maktoum brothers' top guns in his first race on dirt. Dylan Thomas, a son of Danehiill, won the Irish Derby (Ire-I) and Irish Champion Stakes (Ire-I) and was third, beaten a head in the English Derby (Eng-I). Dylan Thomas prevailed under an inspired ride by Kieren Fallon to defeat the Ouija Board by a neck in the Baileys Irish Champion Stakes (Ire-I) at Leopardstown. The race had been billed as a rematch between Ouija Board and Alexander Goldrun, after their brilliant battle in the Vodafone Nassau Stakes (Eng-I) at Goodwood in August. However, it was the Budweiser Irish Derby (Ire-I) winner who spoiled the party. Dylan Thomas was looking to make amends for his poor showing in the Juddmonte International Stakes (Eng-I) two weeks ago, when he finished a dull fourth to Notnowcato. Despite that poor showing, the son of Danehill was sent off as the 13-8 favorite. www.dylanthomas.com, namesake Last edited by Secretariat : 09-25-2006 at 12:04 PM. |

![]() Dylan Thomas is a monster. I saw his last race on TV and boy it was something else. A couple of things concerned about the race--I believe it was a 4 horse field (maybe 5) and DT was on the lead all by himself in very comfortable fractions. He did hold off OB for a long long time. I dont give this horse one chance in the JCGC.
