![]() Need some help understanding this - Toy Cannon is set to race this Wednesday and I'm trying to understand the weights. The entry listing is below. I understand most of it, I think, but still have a couple of questions.
1) How do I interpret this " Claiming Price $50,000, For Each $5,000 To $40,000 2 Lbs. (Condition Eligibility)" 2) What does the '7' superscript on the weight for Horse #1 mean? Thanks. Picture3.jpg

![]() 1) If you enter for $50k tag and haven't won in a month you carry 120lbs. If you enter for 45K tag and haven't won in a month you carry 118lbs. If you enter for 40k tag you carry 116lbs. it's a handicap to horses who enter for less than 50k.
2) it means that the jockey is a 7lbs bug rider. That's why the horse carries 113 instead of 120. It's an apprentice weight allowance. In other words, if the #1 horse was entered for a 40k claiming tag and with a 7lbs bug riding, he'd only have to carry 109lbs. Because he was entered for 50k, he carries 113lbs. |

![]() The 7 is the apprentice allowance for Zayas.
Horses get an extra 2 pounds of weight off for each increment of $5000 dollars below 50k.
