Default Steve Crist: NY should add 50-cent Pick 5 and lower takeout

http://www.drf.com/news/steven-crist...wering-takeout

I couldn't agree more with this. It makes perfect sense.

I concur and they should add Trackus while they're at it.

I have heard a NYRA board member say that Hi Def was coming soon and Trackus was on the radar also. Not sure if there is anything official.

Nah, they are too busy looking at things like a synthetic surface to worry about small matters like takeout and player friendly bets.

A comment demonstrating a willfull ignorance of the circumstances involved around the franchise both currently and historically.

The installation of a synthetic surface would be a comical waste of money and do nothing to benefit anyone.

Trakus and HDTV are luxuries...I'm a fan of the former and I've reluctantly enjoyed the latter ( HDTV is completely unnecessary but real nice to look at)

However, all of those things involve spending lots of money.

Those are very tough business decisions.

What Crist proposes are no-brainer ideas that will greatly improve everything for everyone. They are not money-pit luxuries.

Racing at Belmont Park will be broadcast in high definition according to this article.

As for the lower takeout reduction Steve Crist knows that will never happen. Not in New York. Not in a million years here in the Empire State.

Unless there are bribes legislation in New York does not move ahead so the wagering menu idea will need some $ behind it.
