Default Why Liberals are idiots-Robo Calls

I consider myself an independent, probably lean more Conservative, but I am sick and tired of the 2-3 Robo Calls I get a day from these Liberal morons. My Congressman is Steve Chabot, he's your typical Conservative, but these idiots that make these Robo Calls would have you believe that the Devil is dancing on his roof and he's boiling children in his front yard, my god it's rediculous, he lives down the street from me and he's definetely guilty of having a bad comb-over, but not this nonsense they would tell you. If they would tell you something useful instead of their rediculous propaganda, that's the problem with true liberals, most are completely insane.

I will vote for him, only because I do not receive Robo Calls from him ripping Dems, these calls are making me insane...

Yeah, because conservatives NEVER run vicious ads... like that one that morphed Max Cleland's face into Osama Bin Laden's (Cleland, as I'm sure you know, lost three limbs in Vietnam and actually voted FOR Bush's authority to go into Iraq). Or the calls Bush's camp made to voters during the 2000 South Carolina primaries, asking voters if they'd be less likely to vote for Senator McCain if they found out he'd fathered an illegitimate black child (McCain adopted a Bangladeshi girl and I guess the Republicans assumed their South Carolina Republicans were too stupid to know the difference. Seeing as how South Carolina crushed McCain's primary run, I'll leave it to you Republicans to decide if your party leaders were right about that).

I'm not saying the robo-calls PointG5 is getting aren't likely stupid or annoying, but to say these calls are made because true liberals "are completely insane" is ridiculous. Vote for Chabot because you like what he stands for (flip-flopping on the Prescription Drug bill, for instance), not because his opposition is doing what oppositions do during campaigns. Hey, it worked for Cleland's opposition.

Unfortunately GR, many of the younger "republicans" have little to no understanding of what makes one "liberal" or "conservative". Their parents are republicans so in an effort to appear politically aware the kids parrot everything they hear at the dinner table during thanksgiving.

I can hardly blame them though. Today's Neo cons have gone so far away from traditional republican ideals im sure the parents dont even know what to think.

That's where you are wrong, my whole family is filled with Dem's...

I can't speak to what happens in other parts of the Country, but these calls are all from Dem's and most of the commercials are Dem's bashing Republicans, makes them look bad. Tell me something, not bash the other guy.

GR is right, there's completely insane Repub's, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Anne Coulter etc...Hannity is such a clown and unoriginal he copies "You're a Great American" off of Bill Cunningham a local talk show host. I guess you could consider extremes on both sides to be insane...

Another question is why does Ohio have so many votes in the Electoral College? I really don't think there's enough smart people around here to have that kind of decision..

We get the Robo calls from Republicans in Texas. And we got the worst governor ever in the state of Texas, yes, worse than Bill Clemens and Mark White... We got Rick Perry(R). You will never see him except in face cause the girlies think he is hot, but if he speaks on any issue of substance, he has not a clue. You never see him take any questions straight from the press.

The Republicans are at least smart enough not to let the guy talk. I will give them that. And the Democrats in this state have not a clue what they believe. Totally unorganized mess.

Kinky for Governor.

Pgardn, the Dems on the national scene have not a clue what they believe, either, and I say this as a very frustrated Dem. I cannot believe they have managed to not only kowtow on the torture thing, but also are STILL accused of being "soft on terror" by Bush. Amazing. (If I were them I'd show campain ads of Bush saying, "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job" and of him staring blankly into space, holding "My Pet Goat" but fat chance they'd have the cojones.)

And I think a lot of it, honestly, is the God thing. I think politicians are so terrified of standing up to the Religious Right in this nation that they kowtow to all sorts of ridiculous things because the second one of them says, "Abstinence-only education is a ridiculous waste of money" he's portrayed as a godless sodomite who is in bed with the terrorists. And then the Republican who wins because he yammers about how God influences all his decisions merrily votes on fiscal plans that hurt the poor and middle-class buy hey, that's okay because at least fags can't get married, right? And these Religious Righters who yammer about God's Kingdom on Earth push for torture on enemy combatants and tax cuts for the wealthy and all sorts of things that I suspect their alleged inspiration, Jesus, would be scratching his head over. But I think it's easier to listen to words than watch actions in this nation.

Anyway, to borrow from the NYTimes, I agree with you, the Democrats seem to have misplaced their spine the past few years. (Mind you, I'm still voting for them, because someone has to get these crazy religious nutjobs out of their government jobs, but I'm not hopeful these days.)

I would LOVE to see that. I bet it is a riot.

I have trouble being rude to the telemarketers because I worked as a teleresearcher in college and I know it's a bunch of depressed people sitting at long tables just trying to get their crummy $6/hr (at least that's what I was paid) but I'm still willing to cut it short and hang up promptly so as not to waste their time or mine. God, I hated that job. And I wasn't even selling anything.

GR, this is sooo true. I get po'ed every time someone talks about how "Christian" they are right now if they are involved with the government. Sure, it's "Christian" to send your troops over to get killed in a war that maybe never should have taken place. It's "Christian" to indirectly lie to the American people. What Mark Foley did sure was "Christian" also. And it sure was "Christian" of the Repubs. to cover his a s s for a little while, and not letting the information get out. Remaining in power is so much more important than a sex offense...

KR,
I don't know if you saw this. It was put out before the book even hit the racks. Methinks they're skeered...hmmmm.
Chickens always come home to roost. Couldn't have flown home at a better time. Alas, the dems will miss it yet again, cause they feed at the same trough.

Hey DTS

Thanks for the article. Here are a few more from the NY Times...I'm confused. So just which one of them is lieing?

KY Rose,
I have no clue as to which one is lieing. Your guess is as good as mine.
So much seems to be going on, it's difficult to know who to believe...whether it's a senator from Florida, one from Virginia, a Secretary of State, or even, dare I say, a President.
It's getting "dirty" in a hurry.

don't believe anyone!

we went to war based on intelligence from our agencies...that intelligence is now believed incorrect, and the dems have leaped on with both feet....but those same highly critical dems are now embracing the same intelligence agencies since their report on terrorists fits their agenda...same agencies, but now they're right? how do we know they're right now? how do we know they aren't? we don't!!

with foleys scandal, the dems may re-take the house...wouldn't bother me at all. it's my belief that if one party controls the white house, the other should control congress. helps maintain the checks and balances, and forces both sides to work together.

I'm in full agreement with you about things running better if one party controls the WH and the other Congress! I'm hopeful the Dems will retake Congress, if only to get some fiscal sanity to the budget (please, no more bridges to nowhere...)! For all of the "Tax and spend" mud flung at them, I prefer that to the "Borrow and spend" policy the Republicans have going right now. This is going to be very, very bad for the next generations if it keeps up because they'll be the ones footing the bill. We can call it a "Tax on the Unborn." (I'd put a smiley face up, except it's not funny at all.)

I got one of those robo calls the other day from a liberal and freaked out. I got the number of her office and called in and said to please never call me again.
The funny thing is that it was a lie, the whole call.
The women on the phone had a strong NYC accent, and claimed she was from Saratoga and that our great Congressman John Sweeney had harmed her in some way which was why she was voting for the opposition. What a scam, there isn't anyway the lady who made the recording was from here, not with that accent.

How in the world did she claim he'd "harmed" her? I know his son got off with a slap on the wrist after pleading guilty to a second-degree felony assault charge (link below), but that doesn't have anything to do with Sweeney, unless Sweeney was pulling strings to keep his son out of jail:
