Default Paynter

Zayat just tweeted "Paynter is READY !! We will post video of his works soon, now planning and countdown starts. Can't wait #miracle @JustinZayat @Midnightlute"

Has anybody seen him in the flesh? How's he looking? Where would you run him?

I'm guessing he should have no problem getting responses from his 99,000 followers on Twitter.

But alas, there is no Pretty Horsie Handicap. Gonna need an actual race. I assume it's a matter of finding something low level to knock out the cobwebs and see what they've got, but something about the tone of what Zayat says makes me wonder if he might not want to be more ambitious than an optional claimer.

Paynter making it back to the races is nothing short of a miracle, winning...even crazier. I hope he does.

Justin Zayat just confirmed he's being entered on Friday in Race 7 at Hollywood Park. The farthest I have been able to look ahead is Thursday's card, so no idea what the details are.

ETA: Okay it's a $62,000 7 furlong allowance. Paulick has the details including the field: http://www.paulickreport.com/news/th...ollywood-park/

The Bloodhorse video is of Race 8 instead of Race 7 for some reason. Here's Paynter's win: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=WZRXE4hwXwI

So happy for him. Having a healthy Paynter back in top form is gonna make for a fun year, I think.

Did Vic get choked up at the end or was that a throat clear? Either way, great race by Paynter on the comeback!

It was a nice comeback performance. I don't think anyone could have reasonably expected him to run much better than that.

What is all the stuff I'm reading about Baffert talking smack about Ray Paulick in the post-race interview?

I tuned out for the Interview expecting it would be a 'say all the things you're supposed to say' type of interview.

What did Baffert say that caused such a reaction?

Baffert and Paulick have been having a bit of a feud because of Paulick's coverage of that story about the deaths of some of Baffert's horses.

Then there was some stupid Jill Baffert/Paulick thing going on on twitter Thursday that seemed to fuel the fire--I'm probably missing part of this.

During the interview, Baffert first made some mention of "certain websites" and seemed like he was going to take the high road, but at the end of the interview he said something like, "Hey Ray Paulick, Paynter says put that in your pipe and smoke it."

I told myself ten times during the day to hold together if he ran big.

Best laid plans.

jill said something on twitter, "we prayed for his dark and spiteful heart" i believe was what it said, regarding paulick. she is angry about paulick daring mention the horse deaths in bafferts barn, and is rushing to defend the 'man i love'.

Thanks for filling me in on that.

Jill Baffert seems to be high drama.

Paulick's act is old. He writes a story about a Ruidoso horse who died and somehow has to intertwine Baffert into the story, which has absolutely nothing to do with him. He's turning into a real dolt.

Regardless of what Paulick did, the Bafferts handled the situation horribly. Tweeting pictures of your son and saying that you prayed for Paulick's dark and cold heart, then using TVG as a platform to not only mock Paulick but make a reference to his issues from the past is disgraceful.

How about a hand for TVG too, whose hosts lined up on Twitter to ready the masses for big bad Bob about to slam Ray. VERY classy.

It was quite a 15 minutes if you were tuned in, from an announcer on the verge of tears acting like he and the horse are old buddies to a world-class Hall of Fame trainer going out of his way to make a remark to a journalist.

Paulick is no saint, but the Bafferts need to grow up and realize that not all members of the media hangs on their every word.

Yeah regardless of what Paulick did...he likes to put other people's business out there, and is aiming for reader's reactions, so as far as other people mocking him or referencing issues...hey what's good for the goose...
