Default Ho Hum Saratoga 150th ?

I'm not sure what I was expecting when Saratoga started...the best racing of the year, most exciting racing of the year ??...but, to me, it's been a letdown. I'm not even sure why, but for me personally, it's not been one of the more memorable Saratoga meetings. Alpha just winning the Woodward was the final straw. I haven't been able to watch as much as I'd like cuz my job got in the way, so maybe I missed all the highlights, but geez....the Saratoga pizzazz I normally feel was just....missing...I even made a little money for a change this year, so that's not the reason....anybody else feel the same way?

The weather, while generally good, often had a way of being bad at the wrong times...like today for instance, allowing Alpha to win the Woodward ?

I'm not complaining, mind you...just sorta disappointed

Let the hating begin....who knows - it might make me feel better knowing I was wrong

I think this thread should be handled by the New Management team.

Doug, is there anything on the market right now?

you mean it would have been better if I had started taking Prozac before the meet started ? Now there's an ad campaign for racing.

A little Prozac, a little Alpha....now you got excitement !!

Got to go for two days. I think it's about 14/17 years.

Sensational

Watching and following on line.

Sensational

And the weather? seriously?

Maybe instead of focusing on the negative you could try remembering and looking for the good in things.

If your expectations are too high you'll always be a little disappointed.

Just accept things... be happy for Saratoga next year but don't act like Santa is going to bring you a pony cause chances are he's not.

Like I said....I feel better now that I'm proven wrong.....that's how I roll

Don't get me wrong...Saratoga is still Saratoga - just not the usual Saratoga, and hopefully Saratoga 151 will be better , or more like Saratoga 149 or the Saratoga of.......by the way, I bet the spa waters weren't as hot this year either

Default 150

In my opinion this meet did not meet expectation from the 150th side of things...for this type of celebration of history, I found it odd that NYRA and the town did little beyond banners and the fastest paced Floral parade in history complete with a NYRA float with fake jockey's as the main attraction...oh yeh let us not forget the lucky winners of a $15,000 dollar wager each Saturday...First clue that the 150 advertisement did not reach it's audience is all winners came from about a 20 mile radius of the track?

Someone from the 100th should have left a blueprint for success to be followed. Remember my parents telling me how this town did something nightly for the 100th and what a celebration it was. But we do have downtown which is entertaining after midnite nightly... Hopefully the 200th will prove strong for my grandchildren to attend.

took a major beating this year. threw in the towel after the woodward debacle. for me, the toughest place to make a score but still the best meet in America. Del Mar was strong this year but cant figure that place at all. between toga and del mar it was.......BAD.
