Default SUN - Gulfstream (Donn Day - Entire Card)

I've had this date marked on the calendar for some time. Actually I had February 8, 2013, before the date was changed to accommodate a series of races that will be televised by Fox Sports throughout the year, which includes Derby Trail's very own Andy Serling. The card is a mix bag, but has potential for some lucrative scores. Headed to the track at noon to join a big group for family and friends for our annually event. Hope everyone enjoys the day at the track or coverage on Fox Sports.

Gulfstream Park POST SCRATCHES - FAST / FIRM

R1 - Clm 30k B

#1 Perfect Praise (5-1) - Freshened up and barn excels Turf to Dirt.
#8 Helluva Hunch (3-1) - Both wins came at this distance and Saez will probably be closer this time. 3RD
#5 Money for Memories (5-2) - Expecting Paco to take it to them when the gates open.
#4 Dreamlicious (5-1) - She's faced better and the cut back makes sense. 4TH

R2 - OC 62k/N2X Solid group to start the early Pick 4

#2 Dewey Square (5-1) - Working well for return with new barn. Goes right the the lead early. 3RD
#5 On the Loose Again (2-1) - Too consistent at this time to ignore.
#3 Majestic Cause (3-1) - Not sure if longer is better, but fits off recent form. 2ND
#1 Pick of the Litter (4-1) - Would benefit if some type of speed duel develops. WON $6.20

R3 - Clm 30k N3L (Turf 8.5F)

#6 Hothersal (5-2) -Should be sitting in a perfect stalking position throughout. WON $3.80
#7 Dysprosium (5-1) - Logical, but distance is a legit question. 3RD
#8 Eternal Ruler (Ire) (3-1) - Expecting a late rally from this grey. 2ND
#3 Mutasadder (8-1) - Has turned it around since landing on this barn.

R4 - G3 Hurricane Bertie

#1 Groupie Doll (6-5) - Champ takes her picture in her swan song. WON $2.80
#4 Distortion (10-1) - Benefits from projected hot pace.
#6 Heart Stealer (3-1) - Could have first run on champ.
#2 Jamaican Smoke (6-1) - Speedster will probably hang on for a minor slice. 4TH

R5 - MSW 47k

#8 Gratitude (4-1) - Looks ready for barn with the midas touch. 4TH
#7 Creative Spirit (5-2) - Should be stronger in 2nd start after showing speed last month.
#2 My Miss Sophia (3-1) - Solid string of works for high % debut barn (Pletcher). 2ND
#5 Jenny's Rocket (5-1) - Might of tipped her hand in latest workout and Castellano signs up. 3RD

PK4 -1 2 3 5 6 / 3 6 7 8 / 1 / 2 5 7 8 = $40 for $.50

R6 - OC 25k/N1X (Turf 5F)

#4 Allaboutcaroline (6-1) - Catches insane pace and flies by them late with the Frenchman. 2ND
#6 Kiss Me Lola (5-1) - Looks to sit the ideal stalk and pounce trip.
#9 Warmhearted Windy (20-1) - Tough assignment, but that maiden score was strong.

R7 - MSW 47k

#2 Five Star Dixie (12-1) - Probably will sit back and make a late run.
#7 Successful Luck (3-1) - Barn can pop with a 1ster and it doesn't hurt that her half sister is Blind Luck. $10.20
#5 Tapitinsilver (12-1) - Could offer some nice value underneath.

R8 - MSW 47k (Turf 8.5F)

#3 March Reward (8-1) - BEST BET Draws well and might get lost on the board. He was less than 4-1 versus a few of these and lost ground from the 11 post. Today he draws inside of those rivals and turns the tables. 3RD
#8 Leader Avenue (3-1) - Understandably came up a bit short in return and improvement is expected. $8.00
#7 Papy (4-1) - No reason to think he won't take a step forward here off decent debut.
#11 Market Outlook (6-1) - The only negative is the post. Big chance for top connections. 2ND

R9 -MSW 47k (Turf 9F) Talk about a head scratcher to start the late Pick 4 sequence. Horseplayers could get a clue from the toteboard especially from the two well meant debuters.

#3 Salonsun (Ger) (20-1) - Four works since debut in December where she ran in spots and draws much better for a savvy conditioner in a wide open race. I'll take a swing.
#6 Seeking Her Glory (3-1) - She's been close, but too risky to trust at a short price. Pletcher 2nd time off the bench remains lethal. WON $5.60
#7 Sward (6-1) - Mott debuter would not be a surprise and her half brother Lea is upset minded in the feature today.
#10 Closer to You (6-1) - Has stepped it up in last two works and Clement has success at first asking.

R10 - Clm 30k N2L (Turf 8.5F)

#10 Sapphire Blue (4-1) - Possibly takes control early and never looks back. Maker successful 2nd off the bench. WON $6.60
#1 Very Playful (6-1) - Takes advantage of inside draw, Rosario sticks, and 1 of 2 that have a win on this course.
#3 Tie Dye (3-1) - Sharp return at this level and is definitely in the mix again. 3RD
#11 Almost an Angel (5-1) - Dangerous on big drop and workouts are above average for successful layoff barn. 4TH

R11 - GP Turf Handicap (Turf 9F)

#5 Summer Front (5-2) - Gobbled them up with a serious turn of foot despite chasing pedestrian type pace in latest. Looks ready for Grade 1 glory.
#8 Boisterous (6-1) - Makes 1st start for the Pletcher barn and the last two works might indicate he's ready to strut his class.
#2 Tetradrachm (3-1) - Expect him to have things his way on the front again before others attempt to mow him down late. 4TH
#7 Imagining (6-1) - Will probably get first run on the leader, but must hold off some serious runners late. 2ND

R12 - G1 Donn Handicap

#1 Uncaptured (10-1) - Has flashed some talent and a knack for winning, but he's never faced a group like this.
#2 Will Take Charge (9-5) - 3yr old champ finished 2013 with a flurry and the only thing not to like is the price.
#3 Revolutionary (5-1) - Took care of business in prep for this and earns extra points when 2nd place finisher Falling Sky almost set a track record yesterday earning a 104 BSF. Tough assignment nonetheless.
#4 Neck 'n Neck (20-1) - Tough spot to imagine his first local win here. Possible minor award, not out of the question.
#5 River Seven (4-1) - Has the look of the now horse after super performance in most recent. Looks to be in good stalking position throughout and top choice will have to earn it to get by.
#6 Romansh (6-1) - Made short work of G3 company in New York and barn has made all the right moves.
#7 Viramundo (15-1) - Has improved since the swith to the Wolfson barn and could offer some serious value at the bottom of exotics.
#8 Lea (10-1) - Passed his dry dirt assignment with flying colors and has definite upset potential here.
#9 Bourbon Courage (10-1) - Consistent sort was handled by River Seven in latest and would need to step it up.
#10 Macho Bull (30-1) - Sometimes these Macho Uno horses come up big on the biggest stage, but hard to imagine anything but an up the track finish.
#11 Joshua's Comprise (30-1) - Picked up a nice check in most recent after clunking up behind Mucho Macho Man. These field is much deeper.

Selections

#5 River Seven (4-1)
#2 Will Take Charge (9-5) 2ND
#8 Lea (10-1) $13.00
#7 Viramundo (15-1) 3RD

PK6 - 2 7 8 / 3 7 8 11 / 3 6 / 1 3 10 11 / 5 / 2 5 = $38.40 for $.20

PK5 - 3 4 5 7 8 11 / 3 6 / 1 3 10 11 / 5 / 2 5 = $48 for $.50

PK4 - 3 6 7 10 13 / 1 3 10 11 / 5 / 2 5 8 = $30 X 2 = $60 for $.50
