Default Mets Mets Mets

Look who is going to the WS and look who will be on the brink of elimination to the lowly Tigers after tonight. Maybe $300M next year will do it.

How do you figure a series tied at 1-1 puts anyone on the brink of elimination?

I'm glad for the Mets, I really am. But the Dodgers are 1-10 in their last 11 playoff games. 9 of us from this board could be that team in the playoffs.

I'm not stunned the Mets are winning even though I picked the Dodgers. That was the series I had the least opinion on.
I am stunned at the Cardinals winning the first two on the road. Severely stunned.
A's I figured.
Detroit had lost a lotta games in a row and figured to not end their season on 9 straight losses. They battled hard and played great ball all year long. Can't say i will be stunned if it goes 5 games. Still think the Yanks win.

You and me picked it the same way and I am really stunned the Padres couldnt win at least 1 at home. Cardinals playing like a team possessed. Pujols seeing the ball like its a beachball. Man that guy can hit. Not surprised they are scoring runs but I am shocked at their pitching the first 2 games. Who would have thought after the way they closed the season?

Cards are incredibly tough in that 1st series each year. You have no chance if you draw them in the 1st round. After that, they get tight. If you remember,I wanted no part of the Cards in that 1st series.Pads wanted the division.Well, they got it.Dodgers had their chances in game 1,and then quit before game 2. They had no right to win this after

1)having 2 slow white guys thrown out at the plate(on same play,)

and

2)bringing in Penney with the score tied 4-4.Penney has been totally ineffective the last 2 weeks, but Grady shows the World how much of an idiot he is.The Dodgers had a chance to get that 1st one,and a better coached team probably would have.At some point, you can't just ignore poor fundamental play, and poor coaching. The best way to beat the Mets is to get a lead early on them.Their bats get tight when behind in a game. The Dodgers split a 4 game series with this team at Shea last month. Both Dodger wins were the same. They got a little lead ,and the Mets stopped hitting at all.

That game last night was the ultimate bore. The Dodgers played like sissies. Sure Glavine was good but to let that guy shut you out in a must win game? Dodgers cant do dick in the postseason. I wonder why I even was glad they made it. Short and not so sweet for the Dodgers. A terrible effort.

They are either on, or off.Once they blew that 1st game, they went into off(or pssy)mode until further notice. This is a poor road team that won 6 in a row on the road. They bounced pretty hard from that.Mentally, they aren't involved. They are just going through the motions(at the plate.)You can see the hunger to win in the Mets players' eyes.Don't see it in the Dodgers' .Not yet.I wouldn't count them out yet,but they do have to find their balls very quickly.

Hard not to be happy for the Mets. They don't have a single player I dislike and their lifelong YANKEE manager and coach(Your welcome Nostra, you needed someone from a winning organization to show you how to do it) Willie Randolph always has been and is pure class all the way through.

I agree. The Mets are a great bunhc of guys. David Wright is the future of our great American pasttime and what a great ambassador this kid will one day make. Jose Reyes is some sick talent and Delgado and Beltran are pretyy oky too
If they ever got 2 quality starters, look out. They could go on a run similar to the one the Yankees went on in the late 90's.

Good. You will have a team to root for in the World Series when the Yankees are eliminted.

But just for you idiot, your Manager, this guy named Joe Torre, the one that won your last few championships and turned you from losers to winners, WAS A MET!!!!!!!!!!
