Default 3/5: Aqueduct (5th-12th); Santa Anita (1st-11th)

AQUEDUCT

POST-SCRATCHES

5th: NY-ALW/N1X, 3+, 6.5f (P3, DD)

Here Comes Tommy SCR'D in sharp winter form and should sit excellent trip stalking up close from inside; Freddie G, OK anyway breaking MDN in Feb., can improve on barn switch and cutting back 300 yards; Ogremeister logical but outposted and may not press as much removing hood; Summer Place to Be makes 3yo debut here and would be competitive or more with natural improvement from juvy to soph..

Best Value: #8 Freddie G 15-1 3rd
Next Best: #4 Wild Finish 7-2 7th
Exotics Use: #7 Summer Place to Be 5-1 2nd
Super Add: #10 Ogermeister 2-1 5th

6th: OC/N1X, 3+, 1m (P3, DD)

Well matched group with what looks to be an honest pace. 4yo Catron has missed chunks of time but reasonable as fave if right; Hard-hitting 7yo Golden Itiz, now Valente/Jacobson, familiar to West Coast players as Siegel Family campaigner and a good fit at square price..

Most Likely: #11 Catron 2-1 4th
Best Value: #12 Golden Itiz 15-1 2nd
Next Best: #2 Snake Pit 6-1 9th
Exotics Use: #5 Sliver and Onions 6-1 5th
Super Add: #7 Ithastobegeorge 30-1 6th

7th: NY-ALW/N1X, 3+, 1m (P6, P3, DD)

It may have been entirely slop-aided, but effort by Goodtolook two back would blitz this group; Pat Kelly runs them into shape and winter-campaigned Testosterone has a development pattern that can produce a forward move at a big price. Curious assembly and I think it will behoove to try some odd inclusions..

Most Likely: #3 Goodtolook 7-2 7th
Best Value: #8 Testosterone 15-1 4th
Next Best: #10 Sea to Sky 5-1 WON ($10.00)
Exotics Use: #6 Onecatschance 30-1 2nd

8th: 54th Bay Shore (G3), 3yo, 7f (P4, P3, DD)

Very tricky read on this sophomore sprint standard with 'cheap' speed types (Oliver Zip, Loki's Vengeance, Favorite Tale) lining up against 'classy' stakes experienced turnbacks (Financial Mogul, Coup de Grace, Kobe's Back). ALW winners Charleymillionaire & The Admiral add to the intrigue in graded black type debuts. Jay Privman warned ATR listeners early on that Kobe's Back would be a disaster going long, but he's been excellent at the specialty seven-eighths trip. Sadler's record out of town dreadful, but style of trip/effort from San Vincente would be highly effective here. Financial Mogul another who made it clear he wants one turn middle distance and price square. Oliver Zip has been too good this winter not to respect at 10-1. I think Coup de Grace is mediocre but barn excels at the cut back and with time..

Most Likely: #8 Kobe's Back 2-1 3rd
Best Value: #3 Financial Mogul 8-1 6th
Next Best: #2 Oliver Zip 10-1 2nd
Exotics Use: #4 Coup de Grace 4-1 WON ($16.20)

9th: 119th Gazelle (G2), 3yo-F, 9f (P4, P3, DD)

Hard to see how My Miss Sophia doesn't get away with murder on the front end..

Most Likely: #4 My Miss Sophia 9-5 WON ($3.60)
Best Value: #6 Bird Maker 8-1 5th
Next Best: #3 Sweet Reason 8-5 3rd
Exotics Use: #2 Got Lucky 3-1 2nd

10th: 90th Wood Memorial (G1), 3yo, 9f (P3, DD)

Unabashedly rooting for Social Inclusion and 85yo Manny Azpurua but an already demanding assignment came up with added burden off difficult post. There's no shortage of pace-interested parties to go with him here too including Schivarelli, Uncle Sigh and possibly Kristo. Undefeated Samraat has already established the ability to sit behind leaders and he and 10-1 Harpoon figure to enjoy garden spot voyages..

Most Likely: #8 Samraat 7-2 2nd
Best Value: #4 Harpoon 8-1 9th
Next Best: #10 Uncle Sigh 5-1 5th
Exotics Use: #11 Social Inclusion 2-1 3rd

11th: 114th Carter H. (G1), 3+, 7f (DD)

Outstanding co-feature with 2 ML faves that are no better than the next 3 or even 4 choices. Strapping Groom figures to get an ideal position behind the race's lone true speed in Dad'z Caps. Central Banker and Clearly Now make 4yo debuts and are both an appealing 5-1..

Most Likely: #5 Strapping Groom 4-1 5th
Next Best: #1 Central Banker 5-1 6th
Best Value: #2 Clearly Now 5-1 3rd
Exotics Use: #6 Sahara Sky 2-1 2nd

This is an interesting edition of this race with what looks to be several of the best of the season's 3yo's together in one spot. But note Hoppertunity and California Chrome are Kentucky Derby certified already while Candy Boy and Schoolofhardrocks are looking to make their cases on the points scale. Doubt Stevens lets Sadler and Co. down with Candy Boy who runs like a horse desirous of the 9f and beyond..

Most Likely: #6 Candy Boy 9-5 3rd

you are dominant on the left coast. Scary good.

Could you tell us a little about that chestnut who won the Santa Anita derby ? He looks like a red Sunday Silence
