Default More California Chrome Controversy

However this time I agree with Chrome's owners.

$50k may be a little steep, but things are a little more expensive in CA...

There'll be plenty of time for parading once he retires. In the meantime, the only parade CC should be in is a post parade.

It's a shame fans won't get to see him at Del Mar.

But, wait for the season to end and if he goes back to Harris Farms for vacation after the Breeders' Cup. It's incredibly easy to get an appointment.

Some people won't like this, but I hope this horse runs again and runs horribly. Has some minor non life threatening injury and never runs again. I think his owners are disgraceful. Like Letswastemoney says make an appointment and go see him, he did and got some great pics out of it.

Don't be a douchebag. Not the horses fault. Would love to see him be in top form and in the classsic.

Of course its not horses fault, but what other way would there be to stick it to the owners?? Especially the guy with the cowboy hat who basicley told his wife to shut up on national TV.

Wishing an injury on an animal. You have outdone yourself.

Any sticking it to the owners will be/has been done to themselves. He's a very talented colt who missed a TC by two lengths after winning six in a row. I just hope that he hasn't flamed out from the grind.

i do too. another of those damned if you do, damned if you don't things.
they paraded kelso at the track, he died the next day. a lot of people said 'well, they shouldn't have paraded him'. yeah, they wouldn't have if they thought the excitement would do the old boy in.

the owner has a point, it's not a like a person doing a visit. there are a lot more logistics involved with a horse.
they don't owe del mar. the track wanted to use him to boost their day, why shouldn't they share a bit of the extra windfall to cover expenses involved?

It didn't seem like the owner was going to be happy even with the 50k.

Oh poor you having to sign autographs. The horror.

I'm surprised at you for saying something so mean. I truly am.

It's his schtick to be over the top.

RHT aside...

I can't root for the horse due to the owners.

They are good for racing simply because they are the bad guys. They simply don't know or care that they are representing the sport.

Now that the Triple Crown is over it's going to be strictly talk for the next few months. Why are they constantly complaining? They are sitting on a gold mine.

They make me want to root for Shared Belief to stay healthy and become a super horse. Strictly for the simple fact that Coburn can't out-troll Rome.

I do understand, Coachie... the owners are idiots.

I will always root for the horse though.

Re RHT... I know some have had problems with him but the guy has never been anything but polite to me (and I don't recall him ever saying anything so negative directed at any horse so I am hopeful he didn't mean it and was having a bad moment or something).

Yeah I like the horse but Coburn had one of the biggest meltdowns in sports on Belmont weekend.

Coming off a performance like that it's best to not whine about the cost of prancing your golden goose around the beach...especially after you've banked a couple million.

People getting upset over typical redneck behavior is pretty funny.
