Default Gene Wilder

No he's not dead (he is 81 years old)...but I was watching Young Frankenstein and thought about all the great movies he was in..

My all time favs are Blazing Saddles and Stir Crazy.

Well, that thread title scared me first thing in the morning. Kind of how Willy Wonka scared me when I was little (in my home, the remake never happened).

love mel brooks movies with a passion! and gene wilder was fantastic in them. blazing saddles is one of my all time favorite movies, and no way it would have been as good without gene.

and GR, same here. never have seen that remake.

On the top of my list too...I remember the first time I watched this scene from BS and I almost pissed myself because I had no idea of the punch line. Still laugh aloud to it today

i don't know how often we use lines from that movie-especially the 'are we awake' one when i still had kids at home.

and i love history of the world, high anxiety....me's awesome. he had asked john wayne to be in blazing saddles! wayne turned him down, said he couldn't be in it-but he'd be first in line to go see it!!

He was in a movie with Harrison Ford called The Frisco Kid. A Polish rabbi wanders through the Old West on his way to lead a synagogue in San Francisco. On the way he is nearly burnt at the stake by Indians and almost killed by outlaws.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. So hilarious!! All the Jews here have to see this movie. Make sure you have a box of tissues with you for the laughs you'll be crying so hard. And if your not Jewish, it's still hilarious.

I highly recommend the movie.

Would also like to mention Gilda Radner here. Gene and Gilda were married when Gilda passed away from cancer. What a great comic she was.

In High Anxiety, what was the name of the institute where Mel Brooks worked? It was the "Institute for the Very, Very Nervous".
