![]() Not getting much attention maybe because the Justice System or lack of it is to blame.
http://www.baynews9.com/content/news...ngs_polic.html Had the media delved just a bit more into public databases they would have realized the cop-killer, who according to the story, has 30 felony arrests, 15 misdemeanor arrests and had done jail time they would have revealed the cop-killer had been sentenced to three years for 11 felonies, committed over a 2 year period, on five separate occasions: Quote:
So there you go, a 36 month sentence for 11 felonies or 90 days for each. Real tough on crime. ![]() Was curious about the background of the cop-killer's intended target identified in the story as Jareem Roach and found he was released from prison on July 5 of this year after serving a term beginning 3/2/10 or four years and four months for: Quote:
So while Roach was sentenced to a total of 16 years he did a quarter of that because the Judge ordered the sentences be served concurrent. Had he done the time he was sentenced to consecutively he'd be no problem to society until the mid 2020's. The Justice System and in particular the Judges and Prosecutors involved in these cases have to bear some of the blame in the senseless killing of Officer Kondek. |

![]() First Tarpon Springs cop killed in the line of duty since 1969. I live about 3 miles from where this took place. Absolutely gut-wrenching. I drive by the Police Station on my way to work most days - today they have his patrol car out front adorned with a black sash and flowers from the community:
![]() He was responding to a noise complaint. Apparently this pillar of the community was at a party earlier in the evening where someone told him that a guy in this condo had ratted him out for something. So he shows up there at 3AM and starts banging of doors with the butt of his handgun and screaming. When this cop shows up, he pumps 7 ROUNDS into the cop, unfortunately one of them caught the him just above his bulletproof vest. Maybe GR can explain to us how this coward piece of sh1t was just a misunderstood victim of the white man's system and really it's the gun's fault. |

Charles Pierce, as always, puts it best: "(And we should keep the banal red-blue, right-left kabuki of our politics largely out of the discussion, if we can. Yes, it is confounding to hear it argued that rightwing cop killers are always "lone wolves," but that Brinsley took his marching orders from Al Sharpton. And, yes, any time people try to tie clinic bombers and doctor-killers to the more "respectable" anti-choice movements, we get howls of outraged innocence. This latest episode is replete with hypocrisy, but that's the least dangerous thing about it.)" http://www.esquire.com/blogs/politics/Insubordination As for the justice system, maybe if we weren't busy overstuffing privately run prisons with non-violent drug offenders, there'd be more space available to keep felons convicted of violent crimes in longer. Well, he's certainly not going to be out in three years this time. Nor should he be.

In 2010, (latest data I could find) private run prisons housed less than 10% of the total State and Fed inmate population. 1 2013 was the first year State Prison populations increased since 2009 adding a net Fed and State gain of 4,300 inmates or a 3 tenths of 1 percent gain. Wish every government cost increase was so minor. 2 The non-violent drug sentences are also greatly exaggerated as they don't consider offenses dismissed in negotiated pleas. Since over 90% of criminal cases are settled with pleas as opposed to trial it exponentially compounds the exaggeration.3 Lastly don't let the numbers fool you. U.S. inmate populations that include those on parole, probation and supervision are used to compare to other countries that include actual inmate populations. Heck I was on a 3 month supervision 2 years back for not paying a parking ticket on time. Oh, plus a $25 fine, a $145 in court costs and a half day of work. ![]() ![]() Just curious at how much time you think the cop killer should have been sentenced to for selling cocaine (3 times, once more than a kilo), Trafficking in stolen property, Trafficking heroin, Trafficking meth, possession of controlled substance (X2) and leaving the scene of an accident with injury? 1.http://www.propublica.org/article/by...ntion-industry 2http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/press/p13pr.cfm 3http://www.nolo.com/legal-encycloped...a-bargain.html ![]() |

From Bay News 9: >>>Marco Antonio Parilla Jr., 23, has been arrested on first-degree murder charges after Kondek's death.<<< Seeing as this only seems matters to you and your ilk of self aggrandizing, over-privileged, over-stuffed, race baiters - consider him an nice Irish Catholic boy in order to continue to fit your psychotic meme. It's unfortunate really. You seem half-way educated. Le Fart. |

Ignoring the fact for every private prison there are nine public ones. Came across this gem of a story this morning about the embezzlement of $840,000 from HUD in their Indian Housing unit. Considering the offender had previous convictions of Armed Robbery and Felony Receiving Stolen property you'd think a guilty plea would be out of question since it would be taking a third strike but nooooo! He took the third strike and as a result faces 33-41 months in prison. (Actually 26-33 months considering he'll do 80%) or one month for every $25.4K-$32.3K he stole. The idea that our prisons are overcrowded with non-violent drug users is a myth as is any notion of being tough on crime. Wonder if this guy goes straight 2-3 years from now? ![]() http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...scores-hud-jo/ |

Your failed "war on drugs", your failed Trillion dollars + to "secure the border with Mexico" Has resulted in nothing short of a cash cow for the CIA and FBI for over 40 years. Toss in for good measure, that we "privatize" {{code word for "growing, fostering an nurturing a *business*"}} Drawing more underprivileged folks that have seen virtually every opportunity stripped away from them by the complete banishment of anything that ever resembled a "working class" in this nation. It's pretty evident to any one with two brain cells of cognitive, rational thinking that this is all tied together. But you wouldn't have a fuc1<ing clue about that. they should be happy to be able Windex you windshield at the tunnel and live in a box. Or get locked up in a for-profit prison. 'Merica. |

![]() And I think you should be proud of the money you've spent assembling a proletariat by acting as baby daddy, completely displacing the actual father with the image of Uncle Sam. Ignoring the damage done dangling a few dollars in front of 'they' with the promise of support if they get pregnant and remain unwed. Building entire apartment complexes to house your thousands of 'wives' and dependent children. And then compounding the problem by repeating the process with your daughters and granddaughters. Check out some of the stats of children raised with a father as opposed to not and tell me you haven't caused damage.
Oh and shamelessly furthering the construction of the proletariat with the money currently being spent paying lawyers to represent illegals to fight and tear down the border fence visa vis its laws. |
