Its a shame some people can't put themselves in someone else's shoes when pondering policy...but when faced with an emergency, then they get it.

But, whats worse is that about half the state s didn't expand medicaid,

Which means thousands are still stuck with no coverages and no way to get it

Instead of Obamacare being called the ACA, maybe they should start calling it the UCA (Unaffordable Care Act): Health Experts See Big Price Hikes for Obamacare

http://www.slate.com/articles/busine..._s_failed.html

i was wondering how long until this fly showed up in the ointment...

maybe this will move us to single payer that much more quickly.
the law didn't get everyone covered, is too convoluted, and ultimately, too expensive.
and it's too expensive because there was nothing in the law to do a thing about cost.
we are a clear number one in cost of health care...but not even close to that in terms of actual care to our citizens.
put everyone on medicare.
thus, no more medicaid, everyone gets basic coverages, and insurers can sell supplements to whomever like they do now with seniors.
no more with care tied to jobs, no more with these crap corporations keeping their staff under 30 hours to avoid health care rules, no more bs with filing taxes and subsidies, and did you get married/divorced, have a kid, kid turn 18, get a raise-oh, you're making 1000 more a year, that'll cost you 2000 from your subsidy (yes, that happens).

I would like to find a breakdown of the uninsured state by state. I thought I read or heard that Louisiana was like 60% uninsured

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/...p_ref=politics

'It's almost as though the concept of repealing Obamacare is more appealing as a talking point, a fundraising pitch and an electoral strategy than it is as an exercise in public policymaking.'

Here's Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W. Va.), as reported by The Hill's Alexander Bolton:

“I am very concerned about the 160,000 people who had Medicaid expansion in my state. I have difficulty with that being included."

And here's what Montana's freshman Republican senator (who succeeded Democrat Max Baucus, the chief author of the health law) had to say:

“I respect the decision of our Legislature and our governor on Medicaid expansion,” said Sen. Steve Daines (R) of Montana, which has a Democratic governor. “I’m one who respects their rights and voices.”

A mystery senator summed up the whole problem for the GOP leadership, The Hill reported:

Another Senate Republican, speaking on condition of anonymity, expressed concern that states that expanded Medicaid would be penalized by billions of dollars if Congress repealed the federal assistance.

“Repealing the Medicaid expansion is not going to be in there because it’s too problematic for many Republicans,” said the lawmaker, adding, “I don’t want to stick the state with the bill.”
