Default Curt's NFL Breakdown and rant......

Week 6 is in the books. I am not even gonna try and talk about who the best team in the NFL is now, it really doesn't matter. Where you are in your respective division does. So I 'll give my opinion on some teams I have watched courtesy of the NFL Ticket package.

Eagles are an interesting team. Sooner or later I think they will either explode or implode.

Giants are becoming a real threat. I am very impressed with Eli's play. He holds his own in the pocket, gets the pass off and takes his hit like a man. Not making many mistakes either.

I never dreamed St Louis would roll, but they are looking steady.

Indy is what I expected them to be. Many starters out on defense, in particular the secondary. The bye week will help and we should pound a very weak Redskin team, but who knows in this league anymore. We barely beat the Titans.

San Diego will win their division. Denver is what it is, you never know what to expect with their offense and their defense is always strong. I mean when you beat the worst team in the league 13-3 hello.

Bengals as well have NUMEROUS injuries and that is hampering their ability to perform like the team they are, explosive. A healthy Bengals is a winning Bengals.

Steelers on Sunday looked like they might be back in their groove. I noticed right off the bat that when the camera panned Big Ben he had a different look in his eyes.

What in the world is going on in New Orleans? I have not watched any of their games but man alive!

Once again the most over-rated team in the league is the Falcons. Stop Vick and you win, no iffs ands or buts about it.

Ok now for my rant. Football is a contact sport. It is physical, men smashing into each other, blood, spit, pulling body parts in all directions. But, if you watch games this year, the flag is being thrown on simple tackles, see the Bengal game roughing the passer. Folks, when a QB gets hit that is part of the game. their are men in front of him who get paid to keep that from happening. Yes, their are rules in place and no it is not right to tackle the QB in certain situations. But come on now!

Cool

Its about that time that the 4-5 teams rise to the top
the other 20ish fight for 6-10, 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 records...
and the last 4-5 fight for next years first pick....

denver is an oddity...the are giving up about 7 a game but score only 12 on average...even the Ravens & Bucs put up better #'s than that in their title runs...the Chargers are now my pick, since the Bengals have spontaneously combusted
