(The DerbyWars.com website offers 1-day tournaments for various amounts of entry fee.)

A lot of us bet races at his track that we normally wouldn't while playing in tournaments. What's his next move trying to lose a few pounds for the Holidays by cutting off his leg? Guy is non compos mentis at this point.

Why not sue all Racing contests? Isn't all the samething when fictional betting is done? Is there a particular beef with DerbyWars?

In the long run, the tracks and the contest sites will hopefully come to realization that the sum could be greater than the parts. Especially in the effort to garner younger fans, who are literally growing up playing fantasy sports games on their phones.

Stronach is the first to take action and force the top contest site to the bargaining table. While DW smartly tied up some strategic alliances with other key groups, Stronach is taking a harder line.

From my perspective, I'd love to see an integrated platform where you could check an optional box on a contest site to make your mythical WP bets real.

Is ‘RICO’ a Reach in DerbyWars Suit?

Very interesting, must read, T.D. Thornton TDN piece, for those following the story..

Will also post the Charlie Hayward piece link from a couple weeks ago too.

However, first and foremost, it is unacceptable for those who take part in fantasy racing competitions and those who run them to benefit from the investment by tracks, trainers and owners without making any direct financial payments for their events.

Does the NHL etc. get money from Draft Kings?

If companies want to conduct fantasy horse racing contests, I think they should be allowed to - as long as they are contributing an agreed rate to the tracks and are regulated to protect the customer. With the current takeout rate on fantasy contests, it is certainly possible that wagering on fantasy contests could grow while the national handle on horse racing continues to decline.

Dont fix the rake just levy a new one on ingenuity?

I have an idea create your own Derby Wars that you own and operate AND COMPETE
