From the article

"We are not going to replace an icon of three decades in less than three weeks, nor are we going to try. Santa Anita will undertake a world-wide search to find the next voice of The Great Race Place for the next generation,” said Joe Morris, SVP West Coast Operations for the Stronach Group. “In the meantime, we are extremely fortunate to have two exceptional race callers available to us in Michael Wrona, who is a member of the Stronach Group family through his years at Golden Gate Fields, and Frank Mirahmadi, who has done a great job of subbing for Trevor during the last two seasons. While it is possible that the right candidate ultimately might indeed be Michael or Frank, we owe it to our fans to find the perfect person, whomever and wherever they may be.” "

I'm betting Wrona with Vic taking the GG gig. He seems very content in No. Cal.

I am a big fan of Vic but I think there may be an issue between he and Stronach. Stronach let Vic go several years ago over some trivial matter. Stronach seems like a pretty stubborn guy. I could be wrong but he doesn't really seem like the type of guy who would rehire someone who he let go.

I would think the favorite to get the job would be Frank. I would be happy with either Vic or Frank. I think they are both excellent.

By the way, Tevor is not totally retiring. He is still going to call the races for both Del Mar meets.

I know he's a nyra guy and there's no shot at him calling Santa Anita, but John Imbriale is hands down the best out there right now IMO. He's got "it" whatever it is. Wrona is like finger nails on a chalkboard and frank sounds like a Debbie downer at the end of a race. His calls are so strange. Can't imagine him getting the full time gig.
