Default Lady Shipman to McLaughlin, because..

you know, Kathleen O'Connell didn't accomplish enough with her.. Just 12/8-2-2 ($538k), beaten a neck in BC Turf Sprint and with 5 straight 100+ Beyers to end her 3yo season..

It's part of the game. It doesn't mean we have to like it though.

KOC is one of the hardworking and honest people in the game. She's incredibly nice and caring for the horses and owners she works for. Hopefully she will find another, just as good or better.

Unfortunate to see her taken away from O'Connell, but the owner's quote made it seem as if he was interested in trying some ambitious spots that KOC was not crazy about. It would seem obvious that Dubai is chief among those potential spots.

Default Female trainer does well, loses horse

Similar to Run Happy, just not the day after the BC. Both trainers deserved better from the owners.

Very unfair for both trainers, as both horses thrived under their care, but I doubt the fact that they're females had anything to do with it. Just an unfortunate coincidence, imo.

Here's hoping they can both gain a few more promising runners.

altho it sucks for the former trainer, i really get the feeling they were going for some dubai 'insider info'.
