That's unfortunate.

We need more horses like The Tin Man. What a solid record.

It shows how smart Mandella is, a true horseman. He knows the Tin Man doesnt have a chance in hell in the BC Turf and that they took a shot at the Million. They know that was his ceiling, very good news.

for the Tin Man to have a chance in the BC turf he would have to be 200%

I was going to make The Tin Man my best bet. The horse's welfare comes first. The connections are the best.

I appriciate the compliment of my boss's horsemanship skills . Your thoughts on why he is missing the race are not correct.

The Tin Man didnt have a chance in hell of winning the BC Turf, I like the horse and have won money on the horse. But lets face it he was never top class, won his share of important races and was very fortunate to get the trip in the Million that enabled him to win.

That is your opinion , people didnt like him when he went to Dubai , nobody liked him when he went into the Million , yet the horses that he has competed with this year and beat are now being talked about as possible winners of their prospective races.
He is doing what is best for the horse. Mandella doesnt lie and he isnt scared if he was he never would have beat Cigar.

Agree 100% with that. Despite being called The Tin Man, this horse has never lacked for a heart.

Hope he gets back in form so we can enjoy watching him a little longer.

Was he 100% last race? I sure don't think he would have beat TH Approval at 12 furlongs the way he ran last out.

The BC Turf is going to one short field.

he had every chance to win the Turf that any other American horse has -- and remember he ran second to David Junior in Dubai.

David Junior would win the Turf for fun if he were not running in the Classic.

No American has beaten the Tin Man this year, so it would seem that he would have had as good a chance as any American in the race.

At least that's what comparative logic says.

How's " comparative logic " working for you at the windows?

generally serves me quite well.

we can talk all we want about how or why a horse wins a race -- but if a horse just continues to win, then no amount of talking changes that. it's that simple.

getting an unchallenged lead didn't make War Emblem's win price any lower

Seattle, buddy, stick to picking losers and chalk favorites. It seems to be all you're good at.

Seattle you get a "BE NICE". The guy is doing what is best for his horse, and you have to be a mean nasty little Beeyotch about it?

Ever heard of the saying "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all"? I know that I am being mean and I am yelling at you to be nice, but sometimes you deserve it. Mandella doesn't. He is doing right by his horse.

I really wanted him to go. He would have taken plenty of money in the win pool and had no chance of finishing 1st.

this is so freaking funny I can barely type this.

why not announce that Cambiocorsa is not running in the BC Mile? its just about as relevant.

this horse is not very fast,
not very sound,
and not very interesting.
