Baffert seeking remarkable 6th win here in 7 years, but short price (7-2, and likely lower) on stakes-debuting Cupid tough to take seeing that distinct step forward necessary from Coolmore's $900k Tapit gray. On Tapit topic, Asmussen offers an emergent 6-1 entry of them (Creator/WinStar; Madtap/Winchell) with either/both seemingly eligible with the kind of next steps Cupid fans expect of their hero. Seven players exit the Southwest with top triple of Suddenbreakingnews (3-1), Whitmore (7-2) and American Dubai (12-1) all commanding respect. Siding Spring (20-1) ran a sneaking good 5th in the Southwest while Discreetness (12-1) was an utterly compromised 7th. Cutacorner (30-1) had some traffic trouble and likely regressed in the Southwest, but could be an exotics booster today with return to right development track for Van Berg. Cherry Wine and Ralis look to jump start their classic campaigns for Romans and O'Neill and both are attractively toted at 12-1. I'm going back to sure-to-be-forgotten Discreetness today for confident Jinks Fires who shrugged off the problematic last start and draws far better today..
