![]() Previous polls had showed that Trump would do far worse against Clinton than the other Republican candidates. Those polls showed that Trump would get clobbered by Clinton in the general election. The newest poll says that it would be very close between Hillary and Trump, with Clinton leading Trump by just 2 percentage points. In addition, it shows that Cruz would not do as well against Clinton as Trump. This is surprising since previous polls showed just the opposite.

What the GOP needs to consider is who is going to support their final candidate. If they go outside and bring in someone, they will disenfranchise millions and millions of voter already sick and tired of the establishment and will subsequently get destroyed in the general election. If they continue to play these games whereby they apply amoral, made up on the fly, *rules* to erode delegates from one candidate to another, they risk the same disenfranchisement. The reality is that it may already be too late. I, along with Laura Ingram and many others, believe this is precisely what they want. When the dust settles, the GOPe would rather have Hillary than either Cruz or Trump. If they give it to Cruz, the Trump and most of the Kasich people will stay home. If they give it to Trump, the Cruz people will stay home, but to a lesser extent, and most Kasich people will crossover. If they give it to someone who only won 1 state in the entire primary, the majority of voter involved in the primary will stay home. My guess is that they will continue the shenanigans to insure a contested convention, get through the first ballot, and then eventually wind up giving the nod to Kasich. And then blame Trump and Cruz for the reason we get Hillary in November. |

![]() The latest Rasmussen poll is showing Trump with a 5 point lead over Hillary. I would take it with somewhat of a grain of salt. The offshore books still have Hillary as a solid favorite, although the line is coming down.
