Default PARX Turf

Linda Dougherty (@PaThoroughbred) posted some pictures on Twitter today of the Parx turf course after less than a month of 4 days a week racing. Just a disgrace. You wouldn't even want to walk on it, let alone run a horse on it.

Weather is not an excuse as we had tons of rain in April/May and my grass is thick as it can be in my yard, 35 miles away.

They only have a 7F turf course inside the 1 mile oval, but I've never seen them use movable rails or anything in 40 years. Doesn't take much to have a nice turf course. Some seed, water, fertilizer and some weed killer. Add some rolling and mowing and you end up with a turf course like Laurel.

30% takeout on trifectas and they can't even put a few grand into a safe course.

Go figure.
