Default AQU: 10/27 (4th-9th)

Coming off the big Opening Day slugfest, our glance at the late AQU quartet turned out OK if you played the 9th when Kathleen Feron's 58-1 Them There Eyes, our top pick, ran GREAT... Making the move to a turf route off two main track sprints looked good to us against an ordinary group, and Rudy Rod came within a jump of pulling off the $118 win score.

As it was, Them There Eyes paid $48.20 to place/show, and keyed the $134.50 ($2) exacta (with 3-2 My Dear Annie, our 2nd choice); the $751 ($2) tri (with Visual Candy, our 3rd choice) and $1,551.50 ($1) super (with Junkanoo Party, our 4th choice). It's results like this that demonstrate why we give you 4-5 horses to work with on superfecta races... Hope you did well.

As of Saturday, we'll be a week away from Breeders' Cup XXIII, and our coverage here and on "At the Races and Beyond" will be in full swing Monday. In the meantime, there is a $75,000 carryover at Santa Anita Friday and the Cal Cup there tomorrow; 2 good stakes at Aqueduct Saturday and closing weekend at Keeneland... Today, the 4th-9th at Aqueduct is the focus.

Default Sparksfly..

Gary Gullo came into this with 2 wins (28%) and 5 ITM (71%) in 7 Mdn Clm starts...

Couldn't get anyone with him as our third choice though.. Won like a good thing..

Steve,

I liked the horse that ran second in the 4th (#6 FL Horse) but missed the exacta. Wish I had put your #4 to on top...

Great work again today.

Pat

Default Someone is Hot!

Steve,

Great few days at the BIG A....Great call for the 9th race on Thursday. Used you picks and hit the tri. Thanks for the winner in the 4th today. The work thing got in the way and couldn't stay for the 7th. I appreciate your time and knowledge (& picks).
