Default Oh Yes, Lit De Justice

If anybody thinks his kids don't have his fight in them, they should check out the 4th race today at Anita.Just a terrific warrior effort from his boy Steal Justice. You really can't ask for a better effort than that.

Lit de Justice is one that I couldnt believe got shipped off so quickly. He would have had a nice niche market at 5k in a small KY farm. Turning into a nice broodmare sire too from limited classed families.

The problem is that he hasn't had that one break-through horse that makes a couple million bucks. His kids(168 winners..now 169,or more) have made over 13 million, but there aren't enough stars to get him good mares. No Parole,Injustice, Silver Bird ,and Hour of Justice have all won over 500k(I think Injustice has recently done that.) They work hard though, and seem to be able to do what Steal Justice did today(be tougher.)The impressive thing about his kids is they can win on their own.You look and you will see virtually no help from top trainers. This guy today has only 3 other wins this year.He didn't help this horse win.Horse got beat a football field at Fairplex. Then runs 2nd earlier this meet at Oaktree(at 50-1.)Then he faces a tougher group today, but simply refuses to go away, and guts a win away from 2 other horses(at the wire.) He had another one of his 2 year olds come 2nd in a stakes at Fairplex.Again,no help from a trainer at all(Danny Velazquez =no help.)

That was more or less my point. At 5k or even a little lower he would be a very respected sort much as Bright Launch and Northern Spur are respected and fill a great little niche.

With the introduction of polytrack, I would image we'll be seeing quite a few more winners from him. His pedigree screams for it.

Somebody came to take Lit to Cali.It wasn't like he couldn't have stayed in Kentucky.Evidently the owner of Magali Farms wanted a stallion to kind of anchor the new business (horse breeding in the Santa Ynez Valley.)They wanted a stallion who had been successful out here, and Lit was the one they wanted. So,he convinced Stronach to sell him Lit,and he is like the King up at Magali Farms.Seems he is pretty spoiled up there. It's a beautiful place.Got an email from an assistant up there:

"Thank-you for your compliments on the Lit De Justice’s foals. We have seen that same heart and fight in most of his foals. Lit is definitely enjoying life here in California . He goes out to his own grass paddock all day and looks great! If you are ever in the area, please schedule an appointment to come see him. Lit loves to have visitors, especially visitors with carrots!"
