Default Too many cooks at the Spa ?

While Del Mar has just one John Lies , whom i mute - the Spa now has a basket full of on air talent for the 4 -6;30 live show.As Harvey Pack said on ATR last year , Andy and Gabbby team well and Maggie is a good paddock person. The Mig added ontrack warmup info but H.Pack didnot cotten to him. So now Blewitt is gone too and Greg, Amoss and Loduca are on. greg is improving his knnowledge etc we, are given a baseball guy Loduca to listen to. He is a motor mouth to me whie he is given too much air time , thus a mute, to me . Too many cooks to me - what do y'all think ? like the show, minus Loduca.

I enjoy the show very much because not only is it informative, but it's entertaining. I mean there are so many quality people giving viewpoints and angles, not to mention the back and forth banter that goes on. I think it's great. Much better than the TVG live coverage of DelMar. Even the people that I thought I wouldn't like (Amoss & Wolf) do a very good job. Also, Loduca has been a homerun.

It really is the gold standard when it comes to covering a meet, other tracks/networks should take notice.

Its the gold standard for sure. How about it, a horse racing show thats in high definition, every day.

Their replays on the site, which are exactly synced up on both the head ons and the pan shots are invaluable. I just wish they had some options for my slower internet.

We visited the cook who makes the red clam chowder. You know soup is good when you can sell it in August.

The NYRA mascot looks like Bullwinkle the Moose .

Look at it this way, its a billion times what TVG is and NBC is frankly unwatchable. So to me it should be on the entire card. Could I make some points that are valid and critical sure. The production is rough, but they dont have the budget like an NBC or TVG to do much more, that said at times it ordinary. Do I love Greg Wolf? Not really but I again its not a HUGE deal, especially given what am I listening for anyway's. Who bets what Greg Wolf likes? Gabby is becoming REALLY good and they will be lucky to keep her away from NBC in 2 years. She is very easy on eye is extremely well versed and NYRA isnt keeping her long as she continues to grow. BTW how good is Amoss and Serling. Amoss is tremendous asset, you want Jerry Bailey or The Schrupter instead? How good was Amoss prepping a FTS'r to run, you literally got a look into racing that is offered to insiders only, that's pretty cool stuff.

Perfect hardily but clearly a HUGE improvement on the drivel bettors and fans are used to getting

FM -------------fully agree with you on Gabby and Amoss and Andy; just Loduca rubs me wrong , and i'm a lifelong Mets fan , but olcyk is a pro on air and loduca a whinny motor mouth ex ballplayer . I like the show.

Honestly sounds like you don't like him because he was a ball player. That should have no bearing on your opinion of him. Most of us in this game have other jobs and can't do this full time. I think he grew up handicapping just like most of us..

Like was posted earlier, by far the best show on, no question. For me I could go with less Greg and more Gabby. I get he's getting directions in his ear, but sometimes he just blabbering on. Amoss gets an A+, I'm sure Andy's part is no picnic, grinding it out pretty much year round plus with the "keyboard killers" taking swipes. I prefer Maggie in the paddock and not so much on horse with the winning jockey. Paul i'm neutral, no great like or hate.
I Chromecast (no cable), just wondering why Kentucky or Cal racing can't get with the times. I guess more players (tracks, etc) in them states, not a united front. I also go with XBTV when they're allowed onsite, like SA and Gulfstream.

Way too many people and too much schtick.
Andy, Gabby and Maggie set the table, the rest just mooch a free meal and bring nothing. Tom Amoss - totally useless.

I agree with the positive comments. This is a slick, well produced, show. It's startlingly good. I'll be the first to admit I was wrong on Paul Lo Duca. He's gone into Saratoga Live like a fish into water. He's more relaxed and just nice to watch and listen too. Very professional. Love Maggie Wolfendale, especially out on the track. I'm just amazed watching it and remembering what we used to have. This is so great. I can be at home and really enjoy the whole day. I can be part of it.
