Default Catching up in the morning.....

In order:
Paradise Woods: looked really good.
Stellar Wind: Rollo will appreciate this......I don't know how Sadler doesn't run her in the Zenyatta, she's scary sharp right now.......why sit her in the barn ?
Hoppertunity: He still looks like a Grade 1 animal.......amazing.
Unique Bella: She's carrying a lot of extra lbs.......still a nice way of moving.
Oscar Performance: Best work on the page......good luck beating him anytime soon.

It will be interesting to see how many horses in the BC this year will be coming off 7-8 week layoffs. There are already several on board (Collected, Arrogate, Stellar Wind, Forever Unbridled, Practical Joke, maybe Drefong). Not a good omen for the future, but if any of these happen to win it will only perpetuate the trend.

Nevertheless, I think I discussed with Freddy Mo and some others last year that it seems like some Curlin offspring (at least the fillies) tend to be "runty"--Stellar Wind being one--so perhaps they simply can't handle a lot of successive races (at least at the top level). Stellar Wind's record bears this out and it was the main knock against her in last year's BC Distaff when she was coming off less than 4 weeks rest. Many people hang their hat on her poor break from the gate as the cause of her modest performance, but who really knows?

Paradise Woods and Oscar Performance look like run-offs. They ought to beware if Looch Stables is planning on entering 2 or 3 in whatever their respective upcoming starts are. Hopefully both learn to settle a bit for the long term.

In order:
Unique Bella: No wonder Hollendorfer is in the HOF.
In UB's 9/20 work she looked down right heavy.........in her work 9/27 she looked looked like she had really dropped some lbs.
Then for good measure he had UB turn on the jets and suddenly she's race fit.........talk about a work serving a purpose.
Mubtaahij: Scary good work........Hoppertunity struggled to stay close to him.
Moonshine Memories: Outstanding work.......has to be good Saturday.
BoltD'Oro: I just didn't like this work.
Oscar Performance: So....Very....Good.
Paradise Woods: Must be cycling up again......that's two giant works in a row.

If Baffert gets Moobi to be a winning G1 race horse after being with De Kock and Kiaran he will be the GOAT. How do you improve a horse 10 lengths off those 2 guys? Anybody who says "oh he is just older and improving, or he always showed G1 talent" is FOS that colt had 2 of the best with every single possible bell and whistle available and was never anything but ordinary at best. If Baffert turns him into a monster, I will be speechless.

If? The horse is like 2-1 and clearly the most likely winner IMO.

Thoro-Graph form for Mubtaahij and Cupid coming in.. They're separated by less than a length basically.

Should help quash Freddy's innuendo.

Steve,

Had no form to go by, but read somewhere 1TL..Obviously was just this year coming from Meydan? Thought it surprising he would not have been on before?
I would think Mub has every right to go forward in spite of the layoff, but interesting #'s Baffert 1st time...No need to reply here I assume you'll cover tomorrow. Thanks for posting!

Yea on timeform numbers he is already a contender.

Also, as good as those guys are Baffert is the best dirt trainer in a long long time, maybe ever. Not hard to think he could squeeze out a couple lengths.

with dortumnd out this horse is 8/5 or so, no thanks.
