2017 Japan Cup
Goes off at 10:40PM Pacific time.
#1 Cheval Grand: First two got better trips than him last out and he's always thereabouts. 6th in this last year and can ignore the run two back when he was setting the pace. Royally bred (both sibs dual-G1 winners) and ready to break though this time. #8 Soul Stirring: Her Oaks win had a rating as high as Gentildonna and the runner-up that day won the equivalent of this race two weeks ago. Another who unexpectedly set the pace two back when facing older and males for the first time and not disgraced last time on terrible ground. #4 Kitasan Black: Champ got the win last time but he got a dream inside run and was tiring late. Have to wonder how much that win took out of him. #13 Schiacchetra: Late bloomer found the 3200m to be too much three starts ago and didn't handle the going last out. 4th in a G1 in June and can improve from that at a good price. 2, 9, 11, 12 deeper underneath in the exotics. Good luck! |

Thanks! Great ride by Bowman, who fittingly secured the World's Best Jockey prize with that win. I picked the wrong 3yo second, otherwise it would have been a bigger payday! Think the owner got enough from his MLB days that the prize money isn't a life changer for him...
