Businessman Pardoned by Clinton Found Dead
Almon Glenn Braswell, 63, was found dead in his Florida condominium. The cause of death is unknown at this time. The reason this guy is somewhat well-known was because he was one of the guys that basically paid Clinton to pardon him. Braswell's pardon became one of the most criticized after it was learned that Clinton's brother in law was paid $200,000 to obtain the pardon.
Basically what happened was Clinton's brother-in-law, Hugh Rodham, basically told Braswell that if he paid him $200,000 that he would get Clinton to pardon him. Braswell paid Rodham $200,000 and Clinton pardoned him. Now that's the kind of guy we need in the White House. We need a guy who will release you from jail if you pay his brother $200,000. LOL. In all seriousness, Bush may have made some big mistakes since he took office. But I would still rather have him in office than a guy(Clinton) that is so dishonest that he will pardon you if you pay his brother $200,000. That is scary to have a guy in office that is that dishonest and unethical. Last edited by Rupert Pupkin : 11-03-2006 at 02:38 PM. |

My God, Rupert, you're right! A pardoned guy is soooo much worse than almost 3,000 Americans dead for a lie in Iraq!
"Mistakes?" Is that what thousands and thousands of dead and maimed Americans and Iraqis are to you? Give me a choice between a guy who pardons a tax evader (that was his crime, right?) and a guy who sends Americans to die for fictitious WMDs, and I'll take the pardon man. At least then young men and women will still be home with their families. I look forward to your novel-- "It's all Clinton's Fault!" Let it go, Rupert. Man hasn't been in the White House for six years. Let's talk about Iraq, since that's actually happening now. Proud of how your guy is running the war? Proud of Rumsfeld, too? Doing a terrific job, isn't he? |

Could you please provide a link to your source of this story? I'd also be interested in your opinion concerning the upcoming trials for these war criminals. Coming soon... http://www.thenation.com/doc/20061120/brechersmith |

How can you compare that to Iraq? There was nothing sinister about wanting to remove Saddam Hussein from office. Everybody wanted him removed. The invasion had bi-partisan support. John Kerry had advocated invading Iraq well before 9/11. In an interview on Face the Nation back in either 1999 or 2000, Kerry suggested that we may need to act unilaterally and go into Iraq and remove Hussein. By the way, do you honestly think that if a democrat would have been elected in 2004, that the war would be going much better right now? I don't. I'm not saying that we are doing a great job but I think it's a really bad situation over there and I doubt things would be going much better no matter who was in charge. By the way, I liked how you changed the subject. There was no way to defend Clinton's actions on these pardons, so you decided you would change the subject and bring up the war in Iraq. |

With regard to war criminals, I think that war criminals should be punished. With regard to your article about Rumsfeld and Gonzales possibly being war criminals, I had a good laugh. That is hilarious. There's about as good a chance of Rumsfeld being tried as a war criminal as there is of me flying to the moon. |

I found out what Braswell was in jail for. He was basically a con-man. He sold all kinds of products through mail orders. He sold an anti-balding product that was fake. He showed phony before and after pictures in his advertisement. The phony pictures made it appear that his product would make you grow hair. He also sold phony anti-aging potions.

The story you opened with isn't on google. So, here's how you do it. Go to the site where you found the story. Right click your mouse and some options will drop down. Left click on "copy". Go back to this thread and right click your mouse. Left click on "paste". Put on your "moon suit". The only way our great country will regain credibility with the rest of the nations of the world is to apply the same precedents we established at Nuremburg, and to apply the same rules of the Military Commissions Act of 2006 to those that presented them. You might be interested in reading some long past history that seems again to be repeating itself. It's in the Book of Esther, Chapter 7, verses 9,10. |

I'll try that link. If you get a chance, read Esther 7:9,10. My hope is that Clinton's story is over. There are other ones going on now. Some stories keep repeating themselves. Haman/Rumsfeld, Vietnam/Iraq, Foley/Haggard..on and on...like an endless tape loop. |

Rupert, if you're going to post these allegations as fact, it's your responsibility to back them up with articles-- it's not ours to go chase down your right-wing propaganda for you.
Holy toledo I'm tired of "So-and-so said and did such-and-such but I'm too lazy/tired/technically inept to actually post any links." If you can post on a message board, you can figure out how to post a link. It ain't brain surgery. And why don't I see you railing against all the other dictators we currently aren't using our military to overthrow? Right-wingers need to retire the "Hussein was a tyrant" thing-- the country is in far more of a mess now, with less electricty, less running water, more violence, more oppression of women and more religious zealots than it was in 2002. How is this a victory for us? Iran should send Bush a g*dd*mn thank-you card for doing their work for them. My point is, you have a sort of weird obsession with rehashing the Clinton years, when there are all kinds of big issues going on now, like Iraq, the ballooning deficit, the looming energy crisis, global warming, North Korea and the bomb, etc., etc. Now, I can understand to some extent your Clinton thing-- he's a very charismatic man, and the opposite of love is not hate; it's indifference, so I'll leave you alone to sort out your feelings about ol' Slick Willie. But honestly, learn to post links to the stuff you're venting about and maybe, just maybe, consider letting go stuff prior to oh, 2000? Rupert, I have no idea whether Kerry would have had us out of Iraq by now. I doubt it; Bush's hubris got us into a horrific mess and many, many Americans are paying the price for it. But I bet torture wouldn't have been legalized and habeus corpus would still be the law of the land. I also would wager the soldiers would be better funded and supplied because Halliburton would be out on its ass. You can also post links by copying the address in your browser and then pasting it right into the body of the email. I do it that way because I'm a mac user and I'll give up my single-button mouse after you pry it from my cold, dead hand! |

What's funny about you is if there is a negative story about a democrat, your initial assumption is that the story is not true and it's just some right-wing propaganda. If there's a negative story about a republican, you assume that it is absolutely true and you don't question the source. It's hilarious. It was especially funny how you ate up all the democratic propaganda about that 9/11 movie. You actually thought that the whole movie was fictional since the democrats complained that some of the specific scenes did not happen. You didn't consider that this is true with every single docu-drama ever made. Like I said, it's hilarious that you will believe everything the dems tell you, but nothing the repubs say. |

No, the drudgereport is not right-wing propoganda. The drudgereport provides links to all different articles in all the mainstream newspapers. Therea re links to artciles about Haggard and everything you can think of. If there is a negative story about a republican, it will posted on drudge just like a negative article about a democrat will be posted. A site that is a left-wing or right-wing propagnda site, is one-sided. The drudgereport is not one-sided. You are obviously not familiar with it. |

Here's a link on your Mr. Drudge. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Matt_Drudge At some point, I'm hopeful you'll be willing to admit you only like right-wing sources. Look, it's okay; it's a free country (kind of), just be honest about not wanting to read anything that might contradict your worldview. Though I'd recommend it-- I really enjoy reading conservatives Andrew Sullivan and John Cole's blogs to balance out my... actually... I don't read any liberal blogs... hmm... I used to read Huffington, but I got kind of bored. Anyone got any good liberal blogs? Suggestions? Daily Kos annoys me, so not that one, please. |

Why don't you go to drudgereport.com right now and make up your own mind. The site is not what you think. If there is a negative stroy about a republican, Drudge will have it posted. When the Foley story broke, it was all over Drudge. You are really ignorant when it comes to your beliefs about certain news sources. Somebody tells you that a site is bad and you believe it. You should find out for yourself. I'll give you some sites that are right-wing propaganda type sites. Newsmax.com is an example of one. You could probably say that wnd.com is one. The drudgereport is not one of them. |

This one went on for a while. Thanks to Crown...here's the story. http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...,3437095.story Anyway, Braswell, Roswell...go to ozz h-ell. This is such a desperate attempt to bring up Clinton, and all the others that the looney faco-rightists need to find excuses to blame on others that it is just so laughable that it's beyond pathetic. I'm sure Hattie Burger has the answers (read the article). Put on your "moon suits" cause these people are way beyond the planet. Maybe they can hitch a ride with the folks that were looking to get on the spaceship with the comet. I hope they've bought new sneakers. Seems they're desperate to get out of here, and I wish them well on their journey. Remember, pack plenty of kool-aid for the journey. Jim Jones will be your "flight attendent". Your "pilot"...George II. Good luck! Report back early and often. 10-9-8-7-6-... BLAST OFF!!!!!!! |
