Default July 14 proposed venue

Anybody up for Indiana-Indiana-Indiana (sung like The Music Man himself) . . . actually it was Gary, Indiana repeated 3 times . . . anyway Indiana Grand Racing and Casino is not in Gary Indiana but in Shelbyville . . . with 6 stakes races totaling over $1.1 mil including the Indiana Derby.

Most will like the late first post of 5:30PM (central, I think). More to follow on the race card assuming many of you just can't stand "The Music Man" or Indiana racing.

And I'd like to get the first Three-Peat of the year . . . errrrrrr-riiiiiiight!!!

BTW - And as corny as The Music Man is, I love the music and the movie! And how could you not love Shirley Jones and the very young (and now brilliant Director) Ronny Howard. Great stuff.

Shelbyville, Indiana is in one of the 80 counties in Indiana that are located in the Eastern time zone (those 12 or so in the Central time zone are close to metropolitan areas such as Chicago).

I don't think we have ever taken our contest journey to Indiana. Given that after this weekend we will probably spend a lot of time at either Saratoga or Del Mar, a change of pace sounds just Grand. If that's what you pick, I'm game.

If things go badly after a few races for Hoosier-breds, we can all take a page from the score of The Music Man (even though it was set in Iowa) and sing that "We've got trouble, with a capital T which rhymes with P ...."

And if you want to throw more of The Music Man at us, bring it on. My oldest daughter once played in a local production as Ethel Toffelmier, the pianola girl. I saw quite a few performances even though she only had a couple of lines.

Yes, I got it on Brisnet. Don't remember my log in for DRF and too lazy to redo.
