Why would you even mention Andromeda's Hero and Spooky Mulder with that company?

Invasor for sure but if you remember only one horse has beaten him. Just think about it.

Did he? Bernardini faced only two of the horses in this race that Barbaro faced in the Derby and beat them both as Barbaro did. He also beat Lava Man, Perfect Drift, GW, Premium Tap, Giacomo, and others.......a much better field of horses than what Barbaro beat in the Derby.

To the subject, it's Invasor easily. Right now that is.

What happens if Discreet Cat wins the Cigar by 15 in 1:32???? Invasor probably still get it but I think it could get interesting.

what was barbaros winning margin over those colts back in may?? oh, and there is the fact that barbaro won at churchill, while bernardini did not.

look, i just put that out there--i have no thought AT ALL that bernardini won't get top 3yo.

Barbaro won because he didn't face Invasor. There are a lot of horses that won at Churchill this year. Doesn't mean they are better than horses that didn't. I know what u are saying but I think the quality of the fields was just too different to compare the race results.

that was what i put above

i was asking if anyone was giving him a shot, as some may try to say he's deserving, not suggesting I thought he did at all at this point. sorry if you thought i was being serious about the whole thing.

The difference between Dini and Barbaro is that Dini faced and beat older horses and finished 2nd to HOY. He also won a TC race, but he also won bigger races later on in the year than what Barbaro did in the spring. Both are good horses but you can only go by what they have done on the track.

Races in Dubai shouldn't have any effect on voting for US awards than English or French ones should. If Discreet Cat can beat Invasor at level weights in the US, that would be different. But DC's people are content to have him beat up on G3 types; he doesn't deserve consideration for a championship on that account alone.

In 1971, no one would have argued that the best 3yo to have raced that year was Hoist the Flag. But he broke down after two starts (allowance and the Bay Shore S), so the championship went to Canonero II (Kentucky Derby, Preakness) over Bold Reason (Travers, American Derby, Hollywood Derby). You don't get the championships if you don't run in the top races.

had discreet run yesterday, he'd have gotten three pounds from invasor. wonder what the outcome would have been...

true.
DC is supposed to aim for the dwc next year, and invasor may go as well. ah, a rematch. the excitement continues.
