Default You'll Never Get 6 to 1 on Invasor Again

I should have bet more than $2 to win.......

Oh well, at least I got something That was surprising though. I would have expected Invasor to be 3-1 and Lava Man 7-1 or 8-1. I mean all of Invasor's beyers were better than Lava Man. Sure Lava Man was undefeated this year, but so was Invasor in the States.

You're right because he'll get retired now.

Actually Lava Man had the highest Beyer of any horse in the field. He once ran a 120 Beyer.

Well...overall Invasor's looked more consistent to me. I threw away the Form but I remember reading a bunch of 107s and 108s for Lava Man, while Invasor looked to be in the 111 to 113 range.

I don't know why he runs so bad when he travels. The west coast horses usually do very well when they go back east. Even horses who he has beaten out west have done well when they have gone back east.

Borrego won the JCGC by about 6 lengths. Buzzard's Bay won the Oaklawn Handicap by about 6 lengths. Lava Man beat them both in California.

Buzzards Bay blah.

Hes just not a top class racehorse, hes a nice horse. Brother Derek ran very well I thought.

I'd honestly be surprised to see him get retired. With his pedigree, I think they'd want to showcase him a little more. His pedigree is full of US under-achievers and S.American blood. S.American sires have not fared well as of late in the US. I think we'll see him in Dubai and then a carefully mapped out season next year.

Giacomo ran 4th today and Brother Derek ran 5th. Lava Man kills Giacomo and Brother derek in California. So you can't argue that Lava Man ran the same today but was facing tougher competition. Lava Man simply didn't fire today. There is no excuse. He's not going to get any real respect until he wins on the road and rightfully so.

Giacomo beat Lava Man by over 11 lengths today. That's amazing considering that Giacomo can't even get close to Lava Man in California.

They were both needing a race when he beat them, and he beat them on the lead of a speed favoring racetrack. I dont think hes better than Brother Derek 9 out of 10 times at CHD. I think he ran with no bias today, and with no bias hes not a superior racehorse.

You cannot close ground in Cali, its absolutely impossible on those baked hard tracks.

I would think the Derby winner Giacomo likes Churchill Downs therefore he was bound to move up a little.

It could be a number of things. Lava Man may not like the surfaces back east. He may not travel well. In addition, O'Neil has been caught doing some funny business in California. Maybe he can't do that funny business on the road. It could be a combination of all those things. I don't know. It is amazing though that Giacomo could beat LM by over 11 lengths today when Lava MAn beat him so easil in California. He has beaten Giacomo easily in California 3 times in a row. Giacomo was not coming off a layoff in any of those races.

I was speaking in regards to Bro D. I was happy to see both BD and Giacomo run well. I really never expected Lava Man to do anything if he didnt have the lead.

Thors Echo ran well for O'neill, so I cant imagine they treated the horses any differently. If they both threw in **** races you could make a case for O'neill being a skunk. I just think Lava Man is a cut below those other 2 mentioned. Hes a game horse on the lead, and on the lead in California is all you need to be to win races.

When Lava Man beat Brother Derek at Santa Anita last month, that was not BD's first race back. It was his second race back. He ran 4th at Del Mar in the El Cajon on Sep 2nd. Then he ran a fairly distant 2nd to LM at Santa anita on Oct 7th.
