NYRA Board Favors Earlier Start to Saratoga?

Reports have surfaced saying that the yet-to-be-approved start to the Saratoga meeting might be as early as July 11th (running through Labor Day). The more controversial point is that the season will shift from a six day per week schedule to a five day per week calendar. (Source : The Daily Gazette)

Another point in the Daily Gazette article (which I had not considered) : When racing at Belmont from end of April until the start of Saratoga, expect the post times at Belmont to be LATER in the afternoon in order to accomodate construction of the new arena in May and June.
