Ohio Derby always seems a very good race to me. Not sure who is showing up for it this year, but probably some familiar names from the triple crown and Derby Trail.

Entries were drawn today. A field of 7 has been entered. They include Owendale and Long Range Toddy along with Global Campaign from the Peter Pan, although I understand he is also looking at the Dwyer.

Surprising that there is no Baffert entry in this. Seems like there has been in recent years, but could be wrong about this. Sometimes these trainers can be mysterious, their wonders to perform. Mucho Gusto and Roadster ran in a $100k race this weekend, but could have waited a week and run in this for $500k, but maybe it was better to run on their home base and maybe he has bigger plans later in the summer for them. Whatever, the dummy from Arkansas probably shouldn't be questioning a HOF trainer.

Default Suggestion

AS CAL HAD SUGGESTED BEFORE

''... not my call, but I'd like to suggest Monmouth
for this coming weekend's venue
as it has 3 graded stakes and I wonder,
..... if we could also tack on the Ohio Derby?''
=================================

Maybe Might Be Worth A Peek Before Final Decision, Roamin?
I Purrrrsonally Love That Idea

Like Cal Said: ''NOT MY CALL But.... ''

Suggestions Never Hurt

I hope Ruffian don't take offense to this. But I have been married 4 times and I am done with suggestions from females. I looked for Monmouth but at the time Equibase did not have Monmouth up yet. Lets do it by majority vote and maybe everyone will be happy. So lets be diplomatic about this.

“...am done with suggestions from females. “

In my defense
The original suggestion was from CAL and I don’t think that’s a female

When you win Roamin it is your choice. I kind of like Thistle Downs. I haven't lost in Ohio for a while and there's a good chance we will visit Monmouth for the Haskell.

Real Quiet, thanks for the support. I will see what the majority wants and by tonight I will make it my final decision.

What he said. As far as I'm concerned, that's all that should matter.

Roamin, I'll vote for whatever venue you choose, even if it happens to be the much dreaded Kamloops.

I'm glad you made the decision early. Rumor has it Joly B was halfway to Kamloops already.

Sorry, didn't mean to cause chaos with my suggestion. Once Roamin let it be known that Thistledown was his selection, then that is what it should be. Can't say that I haven't been opposed to some selections, but usually end up enjoying play at these often underappreciated venues. So, no more suggestions from me. OK with me if we play Corgis or Weiner dogs or the jumping frogs of Calaveras County.

Cal828, thanks bud. You are a top capper and I think you will do good no matter what track we play. Good Luck

Thistledown is fine.
My only worry would be somewhere in Wyoming or Idaho and having to bet on shetland pony saddle bronc riding.
