![]() Well seeing how this is a special deal and all, my boss said I can knock 100 dollars off the price of that tru-coat for ya."
Jerry Lundegaard See here. Just when I come to think Oracle is a total butt, he goes and makes a quote like this. That was a great movie. Smokey Glacken detests being hit. Why in God's name does Javier C. keep whipping a horse and losing ground ??? the horse is waisting precious energy on a detrimental reaction to the whip. If I had a place bet on Smokey in that race I would not be happy. The prior race at Aqueduct, almost lost that race when the whip was used. The horse was flinching even after the whip was not used, expecting to be hit again. I realize the horse is very tired, but the horse does not like the whip. Ridiculous. Does the jockey have to hit the horse or worry about being called out by the stewards??? because when this horse (S. Glacken) is tired, the whip is the last thing you want to use. By golly as I watch other races the horse expects to get hit in the stretch and does not run as well. She gets tired, expects to be hit, and would probably buck the rider off if she was not so tired. A very fast Screwed up horse. |

LOL!! Pgard thats a private joke between Steve and I but I have to tell you what it means. I was very much taken with a woman I was dating. It broke up for what I always felt was the fact that I was not accpetable to meet rich mommy and daddy who happened to own a car dealership up here. We were driving back from the Preakness last year and I was discussing that with Steve. In an attempt to make me laugh about it, he said oh **** don't feel so bad you would have ended up like Jerry Lundegaard. I thought about it and said that line out loud and we laughed for an hour at least. Every time I see the movie it still makes me laugh so hard I can't believe it. I always thank Steve for that insight. Every day when I think about her, I just say oh hell, I would have ended up like Jerry Lundegaard anyway. Its quite comical. |

![]() Smokey Glacken was trying to win the race Pat. She took a run at the winner and was simply dusted. That took a toll on her and cost her any chance at a 2nd or 3rd place finish, but you cant knock the jockey for trying. Sure, Castellano probably could have ridden her a bit more conservatively and gotten a suck up 2nd, but Smokey Glacken is a nice horse who the connections thought could win. Why not take a try at the win? She did and that effort cost her an on the board finish. She is a much better horse than High Button Shoes and Magnolia Jackson.
I dont blame the jockey. You just have to tip your hat to the winner. What a nice filly. |

![]() Leave Me Alone was a huge disappoinment yesterday. Thats 7 straight losses since her win last year in the Test on Whitney Day. Thats 2 straight absolute horrible performances where she resembles more of a 10 claimer than a graded stakes winner.

The scene with the police officer and the farmer discussing the funny looking guy out by the lake was classic. Might be the best nondramatic or laugh-out-loud scene I have ever witnessed as a novice movie critic. I cannot quite but my finger on why I like that scene so much. Its funny, but in a very strange way. And I have never even been to the great white north. The movie contained quite a bit of dark humor but the lighter scenes... I dont really understand why I like that movie so much. |
