Bottom line is that if playing the Empire-6 with a mandatory payout is "your brand of Vodka", every other Sunday at Aqueduct is the place to be. |

Why don’t they get rid of that foolish wager and bring back the real pick 6, or at least make it a buck. It’s really time to look at the too low minimum bets at NYRA. If they get those minimums up with successful results, maybe the others will follow suit.

On the one hand when the jackpot gets high, it would draw more wagers, but then again sometimes the traditional one would accumulate as well. I remember that the traditional Pick-6 had a lot of handle, Now that the public has the Empire 6, maybe the overall Pick-6 player pie in NY would be large enough to support both bets. |

Didn’t they lower minimums for tax reasons that no longer apply. It’s crazy to me that the triple in the last used to be a deuce, when a deuce was much more money than it is now. The outdoor bingo peeps are playing slots now so make it more attractive to the bettors.

Great sequence really. the 10-1 in the 4th eliminated a ton of tickets everything from the 5th through 8th made sense and the last was a crap shoot no matter what way you looked at it. I had 4 horses in the last and whiffed. Played a $44 ticket.
I am typically a pick 4 and pick 5 player but crazy not to play on those payout days. |
