I would bet against Pletcher in both Cali and KY until he proves otherwise. Has he won yet at Churchill?

Minefield and Almansoon have both won. I think thats it.
Hes definitely got the "b" team at CD. Hes got NY still stocked up and sent that string to Cali, and a huge string down to Florida.

All those NY horses who are shipping into the warm climate in SoCal are candidates to be washed out, w/their winter coats in. I'm sure he'll get rolling at some point, but I think there's going to be value to be had in going against him early on.

Lots of trainers would love to have his "B" team.

I thought Forrest Code was a play against yesterday. She was given a classic J.V. trip by sitting just off of a tepid pace at Belmont, and was predictably full of run in the stretch.I thought that she would get a similar trip, but that the pace would be quick enough that she would get tagged late by one other horse.Well, what did we see instead? We saw the one flaw of Gomez show up once again. He is vulnerable to getting inside chalk stuck behind(and inside of) horses(Happy ticket,C.Q.,TM Bling,Sigfreto etc.,)and so instead of sitting just off horses on the outside(which he could of done, because only 2 others were in that front pack) he gunned for the lead from the inside. He basically smoked her up with Patrick's horse. However, she remarkably held on well, and only got passed for the win late in the race.If this filly can get the trip(just off the smoke) next time,I don't think these horses can beat her.
