Default Dark Energy

This finding seems interesting to me. I hope others find it informative.

I think this is an interesting article because it really represents the two basic types of Physicists we have working on these problems. The theorists, that work with the math, and the cosmologists that actually figure out how to make measurements of different phenomena that might help theorists out. The theorists seem to get a little excited and a bit out of wack because they are given leeway to try and explain so many different phenomena because we have no way of analyzing the effects of anything "dark", which really is a catchphrase for we cant observe the stuff directly, just the effects it has on things we can observe. Time for the observational data to catch up with the theorists, they just have way too much wiggling room right now imo. Somebody is gonna have to get creative a figure out a way to observe the signatures of dark matter and/or dark energy so we can characterize it a bit better. Rather than just saying it has to be there because ...and go crazy with the equations.

Well said Pgardn.
Seems that Einstein put it on the shelf for exactly the reason you stated.
I look at the two sides as "dreamers" (theorists) and realists (cosmologists).
If you get a chance, scroll down to the stem cell thread and have a look at those articles.
Thanks for your input. And yes, Danzig, Dark Energy would be a very cool name for a horse. Dark Star was also a good one.
