Default Bredders Cup Gallivan Cup Cap the Cappers Contest . . .

We all have $100 to wager on each player. Win bets only, all on one player or split your $100 on as many as four players any way to like. Remember win bets only for the points winner Galivan Cup winner.

Odds for each player and notations to follow. And because JolyB has a razor sharp mathematical mind, he will set the final odds after all wager are in.

The deadline to be considered is 5:50 PM ET Friday Nov 5.

This is always fun!!!

It is fun, but kind of makes you or maybe I should say, me totally whacked out this time of year. I've finished handicapping Saturday and as usual, I've got a stack of notes that are only slightly smaller than the novel War and Peace. Don't know the name of such craziness. Could be horse-a-phobia or possibly Secretariat Syndrome.

[u]Odds for the Cap the Cappers contest to take The Galivn Cup[u]

4-1 - Ruffian (Colorado Kitten having a great year but Gallivan Cup eludes her)
5-2 - JolyB (most consistent capper, year in and year out and the Fav)
3-1 - DonGuido (having his best year in ROI and has won the Cup several times)
4-1 - Cal828 (Maybe the "Wise Guy" as he can put us all to shame when hot)
5-1 - Real Quiet (Sneak good, don't overlook this adroit capper, has a Cup on his mantle)
6-1 - Plenilune (Amother "Wise Guy" Pick with bigger odds, may surprise us all)
8-1 - Digger (He's hot, he's cold, when he's hot, watch out)
10-1 - Cruzan-200246 (Cruz is able to take the cup and it will be no surprise)
15-1 - Alli (may be scratched since we haven't seen her in awhile)
12-1 - Indian Hemp (Plays now and then but knows the game better than most)
15-1 - Roamin42 (Points contests are not his cup of tea but ya never know)
12-1 - NJ Stinks (Like IH, knows the the game yp and down, he may just be up for this one)

NOTE: JolyB will calculate the final odds after the wagers are complete.

$50 Win Don Guido-Very consistent winner of this thing. At least, in recent history.

$50 Win cal828-Very inconsistent. Last in points contest week before last. First last week. Terrible play in BC last year. Maybe that means feast this year?

This is really great info, TY RQ. Now I'm really freaked out as to why Don bet 100 to W on me! OMG Well, good luck to him and me, LOL.

$50 win - Cal. His style of handicapping is solid and can hold up to the pressure on big race days.

$50 win - me. If I don't have some confidence in myself, why am I trying to compete? But, when Don made me the ML fav, he forgot that on BC days I am prone to make flights of fancy that might land me in the penthouse, but just as often leave me in the outhouse.

Thanks Don for setting up this always enjoyable exercise.

The wagers have been made for the Cap the Cappers contest. We have 9 players and $900 in the pot. Betting was broadly distributed with no heavy favorite. The odds for each of our cappers on whom bets were made are as follows:

Plenilune: 5-1
Ruffian: 5.2-1
JolyB: 6.2-1
DonGuido: 8-1
Cal828: 8-1
Roamin: 8.5-1
Digger: 10.2-1
Cruzan200246: 11.9-1
Real Quiet: 24.7-1

While there is no takeout or breakage in DonGuido's wagering emporium, the totals may not come out to the penny because I have rounded to the nearest tenth.

I'll post the winning capper of the cappers after the scoring has been completed. There is a distinct possibility that there could be a tie, depending on who the Gallivan winner might be.

The results of the Breeders' Cup points contest have been posted and declared official, so it is time to announce the results of our Cap the Cappers Contest.

Of the nine entrants, two of our players cashed a ticket on our our winner Cruzan 200246. He went off at odds of 11.9 - 1, just a tad above the 10-1 morning line odds that were set by Don Guido. [ Pretty good ML this year Don].

The Place position went to Ruffian, who earned $257.14 for her $20 wager. Fittingly, the Win spot was taken down by none other than Cruzan 200246. By showing confidence in his own handicapping prowess he received a payoff of $642.86 for his $50 wager. Congrats Cruz on a contest that was well played.
