Apprentice to Watch
There's an 18 year old bug boy new to Laurel Park via Puerto Rico name Jeiron Barbosa. He won with his first two mounts here and what I find most impressive is how he finishes. You rarely see an apprentice who can finish strong, let alone one that is so young. A little unpolished, but I think he has a big career ahead of him.

For a great example of an apprentice not being able to finish take a look at races 3 and 6 today at Santa Anita today.
Diego Herrera can’t finish a race. Very few jocks lose either of those races |

While we are discussing apprentices, have to talk about Jose Gomez in NY. Kid rode lights out all winter and was always one of the first to catch on to a bias. Patient, but also will send when it calls for it.
Another one poised for a big career. |

He got Flowers for Lisa to pass….. unbelievable. Sitting there with 5-9 on the turn, brilliantly said the deuce doesn’t pass ….
