Default ROI Results 5/7 @ Churchill

With 2 really big longshots winning two races, Derby Day at Churchill proved to be a drain on most
of our wagering bankrolls. Those $200 days can be brutal and Saturday was the case for most
players. Only two players finished the day ahead and not by much. 5 tickets were cashed with
Plenilune and Eclipse visiting the cashier with not enough of a return to show a profit. Cal
continues his good capping and finished second by hitting a trifecta in race 7 which payed a
nice $102.40 for each buck. Real Quiet edged him out with a 10th race exacta featuring Jackie's
Warrior. The chalky $15.80 return was worth a profit of $67 on the afternoon and the win. As luck
would have it Lady Rocket was scratched in Race 8 and with the early post I didn't have time to
substitute another race and as a result only wagered $170. Following are the unofficial results
pending any errors or ommisions by the scorer. See you all next week wherever our Derby Day
Points Winner ships us.

Wow, considering the speed with which you got those results out, you must have used your abaci and your Ovaltine secret decoder ring on Ms. Ruffian's entry.

Well, my quest for the 4peat ended about the way I expected it would, but at least I was able to earn my bet back and even add a paltry sum to my yearly total. Just curious RQ. Has anybody ever done a 4peat? Also, how is it that you figure the ROI for the season so far? Just divide what ever positive total a player has by the number of races or is it more complicated than that?

As far as I know and this is just a guess, nobody has ever had a four peat in the ROI or the points contest. I am pretty certain no one has a 4 peat in points. Joly has 6 three peats that I know of and you have at least two. You were one miss away from a 7 peat in points with Joly B in the middle of two
3 peats you had. As for the ROI it's just profit or loss divided by the amount wagered. For the year you are plus $1520.55 and you have bet $2350 for an ROI of 64.70% good for second behind NJ Stinks. With your profit this past week you passed Don by just a bit. NJS needs to show up a bit more.

There has never been a Four Peat in either contest. Several of us have had multiple Three Peats over the years. The four bagger in either contest is still a surmountable quest.

Good to know. I thought I was around $1500. If you divide the total of profits by the number of races you almost get the same thing. Comes out 65 and change, but I didn't think that was right. I am not paying much attention to points these days as it seems like it's easier to accumulate points if a person can get a little streak of wins going, but that may be a mirage because I know I am just as capable of getting a streak of 20 races or so going without a profit. Thanks to you and Plen for your expertise. I try to keep up with my profits somewhat, but you guys do a much better job and always seem to give me a more positive outcome than I think I have coming.
