Default Venue for Sep 10 . . .

Considerations, Kentucky Downs, Pimlico or Del Mar? Not sure about Pimlico and Del Mar appears to have some good 2YO stakes, but I'm favoring Kentucky Downs with all turf, 5 Graded Stakes and 2 awarding BC spots. And each race boasts many entries. Thoughts???

Not the easiest place to win, but Kentucky Downs has the best purses and big fields so should you hit anything, it will likely be big too. So my vote is Kentucky Downs.

The purses offered at Kentucky Downs are nothing short of mind boggling. $150,000 for a Maiden race. Saturday has three stakes races offering million dollar purses. The field sizes reflect the large purses. All of the designated amount of slots money accumulated during the year and paid out in purses over a very short meeting can do that.

It a very difficult track to handicap, but I'm all for it.

As an aside, I noticed that Red Knight has been entered in the Kentucky Turf Cup on Saturday. He's been in training for 6 years now, specializing in long distance turf races. His owners are hoping for him to achieve the $1 million mark of career earnings before he is retired, and he currently stands at $893,000. A good performance in this race could put him over the goal, but he is up against some very tough competition in Gufo, Arklow and Temple among others.

I'd skip the handicapping Ruff and start working on counting the pennies.

I total every single penny except for Joly B who I charge an extra fee to when he makes me work too hard.

Kentucky Downs such a hard place to play. I'm wondering, if there will be anything to tally. Our group sometimes gets skunked playing at friendlier venues.

And here I thought that it was my horrible handicapping and even worse money management that caused me to have such a low ROI.
