Default Final 2022 ROI Results

DonGuido was the big winner in the 2022 ROI to cap a big year overall. Don finished $2516 up with an ROI of 64%. NJ Stinks in an abbreviated season had a profit of $1075 and an ROI of 50%. The other player to show a profit was Cal who finished up $189 with an ROI of 4%. Not easy to be profitable over 49 weeks so congrats to all three. Don also set a new record with 10 ROI weekly wins. It took 14 years for someone to hit double digits so kudos to Don. Digger had 6 wins and 4 players added 5. Only Indian Hemp and Real Quiet had a plus $1000 week so you can see Don did it consistently all year without a top five scoring week. 4 players showed up every week and 9 of us played 45 weeks or more so our group is small but dedicated to handicapping.

Since 2009 we have played 696 weeks. That's when I started but a few players were here before me. I lead the pack with 72 wins but Ruffian and NJ Stinks have a better win percentage. Ruff has 65 wins, Joly B has 52 and NJ Stinks has 47. Don also has 47 wins and Plenilune has 46. I still think the hardest thing to do is to be long term profitable and one player still is. Digger was around in 2009 and at our end of the 2022 season is still profitable. He is still ahead almost $500 and has an ROI of about 2%. That is impressive betting tracks all over North American, every distance and surface and usually not tracks of his choosing. Way to go Digger. Nicely played. Cal's year has moved him into the top ten dropping Ruffian one spot. Guess you know by now I like to track stuff so I'll add just a few more odds and ends and leave you alone. The Jacques Who award still belongs to Joly B with his 74 second place finishes. If you watch a reply when the wire approaches JB is usually in the photo always looming. And congrats to Cal on winning the 2022 Gallivan Cup. Don has 5 so you have your work cut out for you in the future. See you all Saturday.

Thanks for you expert statistical presentation RQ as always . . . impressive. If you don't know how much we love you . . . WAKE UP. Your mind works with a complete opposite focus from mine. The $2,516 blows me away as I have never really scratched the ROI surface in all these years. But that "cash" is about as worthless as Crypto currency now. ha ha ha

As most know I've always held my own in the Points Contest so we'll see, like you said ealrier, "if this is just a flash in the pan" for DG or not . . . I'll wager the $2,516 it is . . . what are the odds???

Good stuff as usual RQ. We're a ways away from the actual New Year, but as we are about to start our racing new year, it only seems fitting to make some resolutions. Mine is to play more horizontals and not so much of a steady diet of verticals. Another is to try to be a better bettor. I usually pay little attention to this part of the game, but will try to give it a bit more attention.

It will be great to start back this weekend even though it doesn't really seem like the new year to me until we go to the Fairgrounds with its races for the newly minted 3 years olds. Good luck to all in the new contest. We started off with a bang last year. Hope that happens again! Just don't any of you guys leave me with too much ground to make up.
