Miraculous Miss.
Has anyone heard about Miraculous Miss and how she's doing?

She jogged away from the gate just fine on Saturday.

I heard she was quite fine. I know Wonder lady Ann l is. I will forever hate Miraculous Miss for causing that. Wonder lady would have taken that race the way it unfolded with that last 1/2 in almost 51 (50:4).
Wonder lady zoomed in a workout this morning. Went 5 furlongs in 59:1, more than full second quicker than the next fastest move at that distance. Shes entered in the race at delware this saturday with Ramon Dominguez on board. But its such a quirky track that horses either love or hate that you can never be sure running over there unless the horse has been over it before. On pure ability shes better than what she is entered against. |

Wonder Lady Anne L would have won that race?
Next thing you know I'm going to read somewhere here that Master Command ran a huge race last time. |

I don't know that she's much better, if at all better, than LAST Romance. But, more importantly considering the race dynamics, and the fact that NOBODY was making up anything close to meaningful ground in the dirt races, I think it is highly unlikely that the very mediocre Wonder Lady Anne L would have won that race.
I'm sorry...where exactly are her good races? |

I thought she had a fair trip in Kentucky in a race that completely fell apart, and was slow, and had nothing.
I thought she had a dream trip in the Demoiselle against a weak ( and five horse ) field. She was born in the right year. |

As far as teh Demoiselle, I think you are completely off base. Its the day Purge won the Cigar Mile, and that rodent of Hushions wired the last race at 20-1 or so and Bluegrass cat wired the remsen. Speed bias existed. Pace was slow, Wait A While is a very nice horse, and she still blew by her. Fell apart is a nice trem to use when a horse someone doesnt like or care for blows by a field. Id say Wait A While has vindicated the horses who came out there quite nicely since then. Dream trip? No way, insanity. |

I actually made a very good score with Wonder Lady in the Demoiselle. I had no idea why she was 10-1 and she seemed clearly to be the only alternative to favored Better Now. One thing was clear to me, Wait a While wasn't a good horse then, and isn't one now, and I had no idea why she was second choice that day.
Mike, these aren't even good bad horses, they are less than mediocre supposed good horses. I know you didn't say she was a star, but you are totally biased in regards to this horse, and can't really believe she is technically better than mediocre allowance horses. She is just too flat out slow. And, I feel VERY confident her best races are behind her....not in front of her. How did Sis City do at Monmouth a couple weeks ago? |

It wouldnt have taken much of an effort to beat her, thats for sure. I disagree on Wait A While, I think shes a very nice horse and better than the horses who ran in the Acorn. Todd had to juggle the three year olds and of course had to run the Coolmore horse in the Acorn, its a given. I think Wait A While would have crushed them, of that i have no doubt. And lets see where her best races are after Saturday. Thats a decent field she is facing for 175 grand. Sis City is obviously done. But Ricky and Goldfarb made an incredible score with her and I doubt they care much. I doubt the pople who bought her care much either. Broodmares who have won grade ones are very hard to find. Look at what Riskaverse went for at auction last year. Rick just made another bundle on the Silver Train deal. People can hate him all they want, He just keeps winning big races and making huge deposits in the bank. I doubt he cares much what people think. |

Mike, remember when you say things that I usually know the true stories, so perhaps you are telling tales to other people, but remember that I know the real stories.
Bushfire is certainly no killer, but you know what, she's pretty good, and a better horse than Wonder Lady Anne L and that has been fairly conclusively proven. Her Kentucky Oaks effort was probably the best in that race as she certainly ran far and away the best race of anyone who was anywhere near the pace that day. My point about the Acorn was mostly about a racetrack that was much more than unkind to ANY horse trying to make up ground. The simple fact is that none did. Take a good look at the completely ineffectual closes that every member of the field put in during that " staggerfest down the lane ". Sorry if I will defer to Wonder lady Anne L's actual pps when I reserve judgement that she would have been any more effectual than the remaining members of that field. |
