Default Venue for Aug 26 . . . Saratoga?

I would assume that the two Points winners agree.

Digger and I both agree that the Spa on Travers Day is the place to be.

The 13 race card seems to be a bit much; we'd like to start with race 3 instead. All of the Graded Stakes appear later in the card.

Should be a superb day of racing, not just the feature, but the undercard as well.

I'm going to handicap them all but I would suggest 2 to 12 instead of 3 to 13.

RQ, I understand your suggestion, but I've never been happy with lopping off races at both ends of the card. I'd rather eliminate some at the beginning or some at the end.

In this case, I'm not sure that there is a huge difference in quality between a race restricted to New York breds that have not won $18,000 other than maiden, claiming or starter and carrying a purse of $95,000 versus a field of open maidens with a purse of $136,500, with some of the entrants coming from the barns of Brown, McGaughey, Weaver and Mott. Both have full fields with MTO's "just in case."

I'm inclined to stick with races 3 through 13 and start the festivities at 12:46 PM.

It works for me. Good luck to all and I hope we get good weather.

3 through 13 it is. I'll get the threads up before the sun sets her in Texas.
