Default Affirmed staring Cause to Believe and..

Poiny Determined,

Cause to Believe will carry 119 pounds in the Affirmed, two pounds fewer than topweight Point Determined, who finished ninth in the Kentucky Derby and second in the Santa Anita Derby. A. P. Warrior, who won the San Felipe Stakes and was third in the Santa Anita Derby, will carry 120 pounds.

Other probable starters are Your Tent or Mine (119), Record (116), and Arson Squad (115). Blazing Sunset, who won the Alydar Stakes here May 14, will start instead in the $250,000 Iowa Derby at Prairie Meadows on June 30, trainer Doug O'Neill said. Neko Bay, the runner-up in the Alydar Stakes, is out of training for 60 days with an undisclosed injury, trainer John Shirreffs said.

Cause To Believe is a dog of a horse. I have no idea why that horse gets even the slightest recognition. The Affirmed is coming up pretty good with Your Tent Or Mine, AP Warrior and Point Determined. Should be a pretty good betting race two for small field.

i forgot which prep race it was, but didn't he blow by sinister minister out in california at sanata anita ?

CTB had the fastest projrcted times to 10f all spring !
he is not a dog, he was set down by sweetnorthernsaint in the illinois derby, a race SNS won impressively, and then ran a bad derby emerging from a week, of what the press seemed to think was an unhappy horse, who didin't look physically right.
maybe someone who saw him work in louisville can eleoborate.

I saw him work in Louisville and I stodd right next to him while he was walking the shed row after his work. The horse is not good and he doesnt have the talent to hang with the top rated three year olds.

Well more power to you. CTB will be lucky to finish 4th in this race.

I was in Louisiville for the Derby and I saw CTB work. He sucked. He's clunking up minor exotics in this race. I like Your Tent or Mine.

AP Warrior is supposedly a new horse, with a new jock....not sure what to think about that though....This is the type of race he wins impressively, only to throw a clunker in the next one

A.P. Warrior is my pick in here - love this horse and I think he gets it done by about 2 here. Your Tent or Mine will be tough if Drysdale has him fully cranked (and he should given the amount of time his horses are given off - he's used to it by now) with Point Determined grabbing 3rd. Cause to Believe played a big fish in a small pond at Northern Californa. His race against Sinister Minister was "nice" but lets remember Sinister Minister almost put himself over the rail bouncing off it twice.

From NTRA-
INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Your Tent or Mine, a top 2-year-old at the 2005 Hollywood Park fall meeting, will not start in Saturday's $100,000 Affirmed Handicap because of an injury that had ended any hope of a 3-year-old campaign, trainer Neil Drysdale said.

Drysdale did not elaborate on the nature of the injury but said that Your Tent or Mine would need surgery.

"It's knocked him out for the rest of the year," Drysdale said. "But he'll be fine."

Drysdales 3yr olds turned out to be nothing. Waste of time giving that guy a horse until they are 4.

Point Determined here...Even when AP Warrior beat him, PD looked like there was more horse that day than he gave. He almost ran over APW at the top of the stretch and had to be steadied. APW did pull back ahead when almost on even terms, but that was the best he has ever run.

i am real confused here with APW and PD, PD with gomez up, the old gomez before dubai, was a winner. when gomez rode APW in the hollywood futurity after Stevieinjuredhorse, became just that, he ran a 4th, Gomez's worst performance on the crop of three year olds. who is riding what horse here, i think it makes a difference.

I think I'm sitting this race out. These horses are all so quirky, and there are too many question marks about all of them for me to play it. I am definitely interested in watching it though.

i am not sure of the race order but a double or pick3 with the affirmed and californian might be a good play.

I think you're talking about the Californian, when SM hip checked the rail. It was at Golden Gate...watch the replay.

i saw the race i watch him hit the rail, i can recall it inmy memory. he wasn't going to be cauhgt, imo.

we can all bet the way we want, thats how you win or loose.
ilike CTB here and will pick him in the top spot in the pick3 if i play that ticket. waiting to see theraceorder. every track in america already has its card published, but as usual, the CA tracks are a day behind.
