Default Evening Attire

This guy is probably my favorite old gelded warrior...welcome back boy!

Article in the Daily Racing Form says they are going to take it day by day and see if he is still interested in the game.

Same here. Love to see these hard knocking old time geldings that still
can run a bit.

Can't say I'll be shedding any tears over that.

I have no link but Pat Kelly told me exactly this last summer and again over the fall when I asked about the old warrior. Good luck, EA.

Kelly called in to ATRAB about 10 days ago while I was talking about a horse of his that had won earlier... (Pat won the 9th today in fact..). He said they were gearing Attire up and that he thought the old guy wanted to run..

I know it's not everyone's thing, but Barbara Livingston (is this where I'm supposed to put the link? ) took some stunning photos of the old guy while he was on his vacation. He looked great and full of himself.

I have a good matchup.

Funny Cide vs. Evening Attire in both of their current states.

Both former JCGC winners. Both having only 1 or 2 years left in them. I admit both of them are kind of slow now. But who would win?

Funny Cide, very easily... Evening Attire's inability to break well from the gate will make life very difficult for him.

My money would go on Evening Attire, he may break slow, but he kicks it in down the stretch.

Love to see him get a glutial. Horses who break like he does(he didn't used to break that way as a younger horse, you don't learn to do that later in your career, its often because of issues behind because when you are sore behind in the glutial area you can't push off) can often be corrected.
This is my favorite old gelding, very favorite. I had some luck with him when he was a younger horse and aways admired his ability.
Kelly is going exteremely well the last 4 months and hes always been a good horseman and a gentleman.
I'd love to see him winning on the inner this winter!!

I agree 100%. Why do I love some geldings more than others?

I'd love it if Saratoga setup a stakes race for the two of them to square off again. Is there any real limit to conditions on listed stakes? Could they just card an overnight stakes for 6yos and up who have won a Graded stakes? That could be a fun race if they boosted the purse to $100,000.

I like the idea of the match race. But you better make sure the temperature is between 68 and 72 degrees or Funny Cide will be a scratch!
