Default Synthetic Success

Well we are coming to the close of the first year of synthetic surfaces at multiple tracks and so far it seems to have been a success. Spring 06 Turfway meet produced higher handles and increased starters per race. The same can be said for Keenelands Fall meet, Turfway's fall meet and so far for the meet at Hollywood. More importanly, horse injuries have significantly declined at all three venues.

Personally, I would like to see no more dirt tracks switch to a synthetic surface after Arlington completes its surface change. I feel there is a place for a synthetic surface in our sport, but we also need a dirt surface. Right now we have a good mix.

FYI... I do not have any numbers from Woodbine.

Breakdown at Polyway last night:

Seriously, the track looks like it's having some issues holding up in the cold weather. Woodbine too. The kickback is atrocious. The industry is plunging headlong into what could be a royal mess.

Lets wait and see what happens. Youre not kidding the kick back I have seen at TWP is brutal.

Its obvious these synthetic surfaces need a bit more grooming than initially thought, I think they will all freeze, and eventually we may have some serious problems. Hopefully not

Its a scam, pure and simple. No different than the guys on 20/20 last night who were selling black construction paper for 340 grand thats supposed to be money.
You get home and find out the wiping solution is a scam, its only paper instead of money.
Same thing here.

I need to get some of that black money Oracle, that was hilarious. Those Nigerians may be selling polytrack too.

Woodbine also had two break them off in November, and 3 in the morning for a grand total of 5 through the month.

Revised... Im sorry it was 2 in the morning, just spoke to my friend. Grand total of 4 in the month.
