Default Stern cracks the whip!

Denver and NY each fined half a million and 47 total games of suspension issued to players with Anthony getting the most (15)....finally a clear statement against thug behavior!

I think it was too many games for Carmelo and not punishing Thomas is pathetic. A coach can threaten bodily harm on a player, then order another of his players to take a teammate out and when the player that was threatened punches out the guy who took the cheap shot he gets 15 games while the coach who started it all gets off without even a slap on the wrist.

Probably the most offensive and tasteless title for a thread ever. Good job.

How the hell does J.R. Smith get suspended for 10 games and the
instigator Mardy Collins only get 6 games, something isn't right.

Again, I agree 100%. It's right there on film where Thomas is warning Anthony not to go in the lane. Yet he gets nothing. And for Thomas and Robinson to talk about how they weren't going to let the Nuggets embarrass them in front of their home fans was a joke too. Collins did the same thing in a blowout loss to Indiana when Indiana's star players weren't in the game. If the Knicks want to not be embarrassed on their home court, they should try playing better. That might help. Stop being behind by 20 every game and teams won't have the chance to embarrass u. Isiah Thomas is a punk and always has been a punk. Can't even coach his own team and is worried about how another guy coaches his.

I love Pro B-Ball but I think all the players should have been fined a % of their salary. I would say 25% would be perfect. I think each of them should sit out 20 games. Thomas needs to go. Granted I have respect for him because he did got to IU, but he is a disgrace. He should be banned from coaching for the year.

I think people are missing the point here...one can debate the individual suspensions but the plain fact is Stern took aggressive action. The Union will have it's day and we'll hear a lot about the particulars. If they have proof about Thomas then I suspect there will be action taken, Stern made it clear that he acted based on the best info/evidence available to him at this time. A lot has been made about Thomas but Stern can't act without proof. I'm as critical as anyone about this stuff but I think this was appropriate action...a half million fine for each team is no mere slap on the wrist. Anthony took it to the next level and deserved the most days. The original foul, while totally unwarranted and thug-like was greeted with six days...about the most one would expect. The message sent here is one that some folks on this board need to learn...you can't justify your behavior by pointing at the misdeeds of others! It's the same rationalization I heard in prison from the inmates..."I shouldn't be here cause other people do the same thing or worse"...we are each responsible for our behavior and Anthony has to deal with the ramifications of his!

MSG has audio of Isaiah telling Carmelo not to come into the paint. A coach shouldn't be talking to the opposing players period and certainly shouldn't be threatening them.

Biggest city in America sure has an f'd up basketball team. How did all this happen? How is it the Knicks have the talent of an expansion team? I mean this(the thug activity) would have never happened if the Knicks had some game.

Folks this is the second time Isiah has threatened and opposing player. He threatened Bruce Bowen, told him he would have his players break his foot... Its not like this is the first time for Isiah. Isiah did apoligize and said he was totally out of line. Of course Popovich told Isiah to shut the f ck up and go talk to your own players, not mine. They almost got into it.

And it is absolutely amazing how bad the Knicks have screwed themselves up.

George Karl just reamed Isiah. Called him a number of expletives on camera.
Also a hothead. When coaches get going at each other like this a good deal of time after said event... no wonder their teams have control problems.

Thats two bad losses by Utah DaHoss. Jerry Sloan is also a bit of a hard a ss. Interesting how these teams reflect their coaches. I bet Isiah remembers Karl Malone pretty well after he got his face smashed. Somewhere along the line that pure anger needs to get focused into something useful on the court.

Michael Jordan got that done.

OMG......WTF were the Jazz players doing when Marbury simply drove the length of the floor(never defended) and layed the ball up to score at the buzzer? That can't happen.
