Default 2nd @ FG

The 2nd at FG. As the horses are approaching the gate...the #1 goes back to the paddock for an equipment change/adjustment...comes back on the track, and then goes back to the paddock for another equipment change/adjustment, at which time the jock gets off. Now, a new rider is sought (all the time the other runners are circling behind the gate).. The horse picks up a "journeyman jock" and returns to the track (losing a 5# bug..and adding a plus 4# with the new jock ...110 pounds to 119 pounds). I tell the total stranger next to me.."I wouldn't bet that horse with your money"..

The one horse, Watch My Temper, goes gate to 30 yards to the wire where he is beaten by a length (all of the time the total stranger has a grin on his face)... Take off the nine pounds and he wins by daylight.. Oh well, just another day in paradise..

How soaked did you get? It looked like the sort of day that I wouldn't even go to a marching band contest with my kid in it (and the rest of the band parents make you feel like an abuser when you don't).
